Mcdaniels hiring should quiet Spags critics.

Well this hiring lays to rest all the Spags whiners who called him over-controlling and who accused him of only bringing in his "own" guys.

I personally am pumped to see the OC of the 16-0 Patriots teamed up with the only DC who could stop him. IMO a Mcd-Bradford-Jackson offense with an always solid Spags D has the potential to run the table in the division next year.

With a good draft and FA, I think more than the skys the limit for this team.

    GO RAMS

I really just hope that he won't pack up and leave town after just one season.

It is doubtful he could restore his credibility to run a team on his own in one season.

I hope McDaniels brought all the "how to and get away with it" instructions.

I couldn't agree more. We have the makings of something very special happening here.

    Go Rams!!!

In all fairness here, Spags was controlling and did apparently put a leash on Shurmer. I'm hoping this hire is a realization that keeping a regulator on the offense isn't always the best course of action. Surely Spags wouldn't hire a gunslinger only to take away his ability to draw?

I would bet he won't let McDaniels completely unleash to start the season, but I also doubt a new OC with a young QB would. He would build the playbook through the year.

and if he was able to it would mean he likely did something spectacular with the offense in the one season he is here.

I posted in another thread imo we have him for at least 2 seasons, and those would have to be 2 incredible seasons from a team perspective for him to remove the stigma he has attached.

I'll give credit where credit is due. I though no way would Spags pass on his best friend in the NFL, and a WCO that he could have significant input on..I was wrong. I think this is a fantastic signing, and I can't wait to see the offense opened up some. IF the Rams had signed someone who fit the above characteristics, I would have had serious doubts about the Rams offensive potential. However:

Spags, I was wrong. You manned up and did the best thing for the Rams as a team. From this Rams fan, I want to sincerely say thank you. Now lets go destroy the Seahawks and every other team next year.

Also, you would think this hiring would make the Rams a very enticing team to join if your a premier free agent(Rice,V.Jackson,Holmes, etc)

My only major concern about McD is hopefully he doesn't make our running game insignificant. He has to balance out his explosive pass offense and S-Jax's explosive run game.

Yeah hopefully they add some extra blockers. I really doubt we'll see 8 men in the box as frequently on Sunday's

I think if our offense ran the same amount that the pats do I'd be fine. Jackson's workload has been WAY too big and it has to be wearing on him. What excites me the most is McDaniels' ability to get the most out of WRs & QBs i.e. Cassel, Orton, Lloyd, Welker.
