when i was saying he looks quicker and lghter wasnt comparng him to his ovrall career, just last season..he looked slow as crap last year, and i just think he looks a little quicker, and id bet he lost at least 5lbs from last season..of course 5 years ago he was quicker, just comparing this year to last..anyway i thought he looked good and looking forward to seeing what he does in a full, regular season game..it was nice to see Mcdaniels give him the ball repeatedly, that will open up the passing game..

You can see the dude wearing down every year. Its almost over for the beast. Thankfully, they have some credible backups to help lighten his work load this year. He is still a mighty load for anyone to bring down.

After reading this, I wondered if the numbers agree. Looking at last year, they do:

Games 1-8: 172 carries, 676 yards, 3.9 avg.
Games 9-16: 158 carries, 563 yards, 3.6 avg.

Interestingly, though, his receiving numbers went up in the second half of the season:

Games 1-8: 17 receptions, 169 yards
Games 9-16: 29 receptions, 214 yards

Looking at those numbers, its easy to understand why the Rams want to shift more of Jackson's "touches" from the running game to the passing game.
