Memo to Rams Coaching Staff: Preseason Action for Jackson

Last year, the Rams barely used Jackson during the preseason, and he then proceeded to get off to a slow start, only to be injured after three games.

Let's not do that again.

Jackson needs to get his reps in during preseason. This is particularly true given that the Rams have a new OC and Jackson, like the other offensive starters, need to be completely familiar with the new system in September, when the Rams have a tough initial schedule.

Jackson should be given 10-12 carries per game in the preseason.

I thought the practice of holding out starters from preseason games has worked well for Linehan thus far. So, it takes them 4 or 5 regular season games to get into a rythmn and sometimes they get hurt, is that really a big deal?

Jackson does need to get on the field in the first place. He's a good back and we play better when he plays.
