The Dolphins appear to be in the market for a new offensive coordinator.

According to a source close to Scott Linehan and a report in The St. Louis Post-Dispatch quoting a team source, Linehan will be offered the St. Louis Rams' coaching job as early as today and is expected to accept the offer.

Linehan interviewed with the Rams on Tuesday and continued to impress Rams management. St. Louis also interviewed San Diego offensive coordinator Cam Cameron on Tuesday and had Chicago defensive coordinator Ron Rivera on Wednesday.

After getting done with Rivera, the Rams quickly moved to begin talks with Linehan and agent David Dunn. Finalization of the deal is pending the approval of Rams owner Georgia Frontiere, The Post-Dispatch reported.

Linehan is expected to take Dolphins receivers coach Charlie Baggett with him to St. Louis, but it's unknown if any other Dolphins assistants will join him. Baggett worked with Linehan in Minnesota.

Baggett would probably be the OC, which would potentially allow Ellard to stick around.

Maybe 'COACH' LINEHAN Could Bring 'STICKY-RICKY' Along With Him From Miami.

We don't need Ricky, I would rather see Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor for a couple of seasons.

I'd rather have some younger defensive players.

Maybe he will bring jake scott with him. I think he is still in shape and can fill in at safety.

Someone on another board suggested that he could bring Gus Frerrotte with him to back up Bulger. I'd take Frerrotte over Martin, with Fitzpatrick being groomed to be the backup in 2007.

Isn't Frerrotten the current starter in Miami??? Why would he leave to be a backup

There's a lot of talk that the Dolphins will look to sign or trade for a veteran starter.

Looking at the FA 'phins out there, I'd be interested in seeing David Boston come our way for a minimum contract assuming his knee injury is healed up. He'd be a great change-of-pace to go with our speed urchins.

Even if he does heal, he is waaaaaaay too injury prone.

Still worth a minimum contract though. Low risk / high reward......that's a good deal.
