Re: Miami Herald: Rams agree to terms with C Jason Brown

As posted above per Jim Thomas: five-year, $37.5 million deal with the Rams on Friday night. The deal includes $20 million in guaranteed money.

Now my only question is whats the cap hit? It will be interesting to see. It averages 7.5 mil per year but hopefully its a lesser hit this year. Next year it can increase when we get some of this dead money from cutting people off the books. Hopefully no more then 6mil hit this year.

He also don't turn 26 until May 5th he will be only 31 when the contract is up. It will be great for a change to sign a guy that should be very productive toward the end of his contract.

Great signing no matter what I just hope its a lesser cap hit this year we need the money with the holes we have.

i certainly hope Demoff`s head hasn`t been turned to mush due to his wife giving birth in the last day or so when he worked out the figures...

and the deal is Pro-Rams in the sense of Cap hit for this year atleast.

Shouldn't be too bad Devaney said he thinks we can sign Butler, Bartell, and Brown without having to cut anyone. Demoff mus be a cap genius

Don't like the signing. 7.5 mil for a Center; that more like OT money. Overpaid badly for him. If Bartell is NOT resigned, I will hate this more.
I rather have Alex Mack or Unger or Wood or Luigs.

    Not these days, it isn't.

    Overpaid badly for him.
Not if he plays to his potential, we didn't.

If Bartell is resigned, I will hate this more.
    Huh?

I rather have Alex Mack or Unger or Wood or Luigs.
I'd rather address other needs in the early rounds of the draft.

try and look at it as weve got Brown and can fill another position with that second round pick...is one less hole to fill..

we dont know which one of those may have still been available when we picked in the second and tho i like Luigs in the third as he seems a good prospect,he`s just that..... a prospect.

Brown is proven in the NFL and only slightly older than all those prospects!

Re: Miami Herald: Rams agree to terms with C Jason Brown

Jackson asked for a big body like Incognito up front, he got his wish. No excuses this year for the O-Line, I'm really looking forward to the effects Brown will have on Bell and Incognito. By the way, all 3 plus Jackson are 26 or younger I believe???

Re: Miami Herald: Rams agree to terms with C Jason Brown

drafting an ot in the first round is really stupid since we have needs outside the oline and its a pretty deep draft. it would be better to wait until round 2 to get someone with the same talent demanding half the amount of money
