Mike Silver's Rams Draft Coverage

Mike Silver of Yahoo Sports really gave us a great inside look at the Rams' War Room and the team's decisionmaking process during draft weekend.

That's right... you read that correctly...

AvengerRam praising a sportswriter. Who would would have thought that would ever happen?

Silver reminded us of the value of sportsmedia: reporting on events that they have access to, and we don't.

Pretty simple concept, but one worth noting. The media is far too obsessed with trying to get "scoops" or to prove that they can predict the future better than their counterparts. I have little use for the speculation disguised as fact/rumor mill that results from that type of sports "journalism."

But when a reporter actually provides us with a view of something we don't get to see ourselves, like the Rams' War Room, that is actually interesting and informative.

Silver's writing on the Rams draft process was amazing. I think he did three articles in total, but the ones providing insight on the first and second days of the draft were just awesome. Its not often you hear a teams draft plans. Without these articles we wouldn't have known things like the Rams having no interest in Michael Floyd, or taking a look at a couple of OLBs in round 2.
