Missing Martz ??? I say yes
The ups the downs the wins the losses the crazy finishes , with martz this team has always has a fighting chance to win a game even when it all looked bad. This offense we have now scares NO ONE and the funny thing about it is that it is making people Question our talent on the offensive side. The conservative approach is for a team lacking in talent and skill, that is still learning how to be great the players on this offense ALL !!!! know how to be great nor do thay lack the telent to do it so i ask why the conservative approach?? i am officially missing martz atleast we went to playoffs 5-7 years and 2 SB appearances (one as OC) we ran him outta town not really knowing if anyone could run this rams Offense like he could

Re: Missing Martz ??? I say yes
Yeah, he ran a good offense. He is a good offensive coordinator, but he is a TERRIBLE head coach! I can't believe why any Ram fan would defend him. He ruined our team. With all the talent we had when he took over we should have won 3 Super Bowls easy. His "lets throw the ball 60 times a game" philosophy will never work in the NFL.

Re: Missing Martz ??? I say yes
I have to agree with ScottD413 on this one. Martz as a head coach was a disaster. He's an excellent offensive coordinator (so long as he has a head coach who will corral his ego as Vermeil did in 1999).
It saddens me to think of the Super Bowls we could have won if they had just kept the 1999 coaching staff together, but then again, Martz probably would have found a way to screw up the chemistry if he stayed. He believed his press clippings and thrived as "the genius" in an arrogant way that Bill Walsh didn't. Maybe its the gin speaking, but I don't want Martz back, but good luck to him in Detroit. I hope he does succeed in the NFL because I owe him that. However, I would love to see Bill Cowher come out of retirement to take over the Rams.

Re: Missing Martz ??? I say yes
No offensive mind, Martz included, would be able to get much from this offense with the state of the OL, no way.

Re: Missing Martz ??? I say yes
get over martz...he'll never be back here in any capacity as long
as the georgia/shaw/zygmunt covenant is intact...
and he has tunnel vision to boot...he thinks having a great offense
is the panacea for everything...

Re: Missing Martz ??? I say yes
when the dust settles maybe we should take a poll or something on this but my theory is that the most hysterical of ram fans right now are of the former st.louis cardinals fans variety!
yes we suck this season so far,yes its unlikely to get better this year, yes Linehan is out of his depth and maybe should be replaced before next season ,but hell never should we go back to the days of not having an HC atall as we did under OC martz!

Re: Missing Martz ??? I say yes
Oh I miss Martz a ton, but yes, as an OC. Look at what he's doing for the Lions. Yes they got blasted, but they still almost outscored our entire season today. He's an amazing offensive genius and if he could be paired with a defensive guy with a good defense the team would be as great as we were in 99.
I blame the play calling, not the guys themselves.

Re: Missing Martz ??? I say yes
The bottom line is We don't have Martz, we'll just play with what we have and see what happens the rest of the way.

Re: Missing Martz ??? I say yes
We're missing the past, not necessarily missing the man himself. Being 0-3 has a way of making one reminisce. Nothing bad in that, but you won't find any answers to current problems. Martz was part, albeit a very important part, of the SB jigsaw and whilst I thought he was a decent HC, his return now would do little to address the issues that we have on this football team.
Not to mention that it won't happen in a month of Sundays.
Miss him?
A little.
Want him back?
No, and I think he's happier where he is right now
