Here we go then Ladies and Gentlemen. After months of coaching changes, bounties, picking this years draft and cutting last years - the new season is nearly upon us.

In this post you will hopefully find all the guidelines, information and help that you need to take part in this years Mock Gambling Competition. If you are unclear ON ANY ASPECT of the competition then please feel free to PM me or post in this thread and I’ll answer them to the best of my ability.

“JackieSlater” (Mark) ran the competition for the last six seasons and as this is my first, please bear with me if it doesn’t run quite as smoothly!!

Mock Gambling Competition - What is it and how is it run?

• Everyone starts with a fictitious $1000
• This year, the competition will run for as long as the Rams season. E.g. if the Rams reach the Superbowl (here’s hoping) it carry’s on till the end . If the Rams lose in the Wildcard Weekend, it stops there etc.

The Mock Gambling Competition is a part gambling, part predicting competition. Each member starts with a fictitious $1000 in their own money pot and can bid/gamble as much as they like of that on the "Game of the Week" - spread included (which will usually be the Rams game).

Each week there will be a number of questions which if you call correctly puts more $$$$ into your money pot. You then can gamble as much of your money pot as like like on the following weeks “Game of the Week”.

If you lose everything then don’t worry, you remain in the competition and can build your money pot back up by answering questions correctly.

The winner is the member with the most money in his/her pot at the end of the Rams season.

You make your bets/predictions/answers by simply posting on the thread each week, the mods always make each separate weekly thread “Sticky” so you can easily find where we are all up to.

To be anywhere near successful you will need to take part almost every week throughout the season.

It is free to enter, open to each and every member of the Clan and taken seriously albeit having fun and enjoyment along the way!

The winner, apart from having bragging rights, will be draped with “rep”.

Rules and Guidelines to help you along

1) Generally there are NO rules set in stone in which we adhere too, it's all done on a fair, honest and most of all common sense system. The only 1 rule we stick to is that any Bets/posts/predictions posted after the deadline each week are declared void – you have the best part of 4-5 days to make your picks/selections each week, if you rush to get them posted at the last minute and miss the deadline.. who’s fault is that?
2) Each member starts Week 1 with a fictitious $1000, it's up to each and everyone on how you spend the $$$$. If you miss Week 1 starting on Week 2 you'll receive $750, Week 3 - $500, Week 4 - $250, Week 5 $100, Week 6 onwards $50. etc etc
3) If your $$$$$ reaches $0, You are only ledgeable to part take in answering the questions/predictions each week, until you gain enough $$$ to make a bet on the “Game of the Week”.
4) Usually sometime on the Monday/Tuesday after the weekends games i will update the scores, post the standings, and set that following weeks "Game of the Week" spread, questions and predictions.
5) Any issues/disagrements are simply talked through with me. Remember guys this is a fun competition not life and death, I'll be as fair and honest as much as common sense will allow.
6) For the official recording of stats/yardage NFL.com will be used.

DEADLINE for WEEK 1 - SUNDAY 9th SEPTEMBER 1pm EST/ 6pm GMT

The number of questions may vary slightly week to week, and the amount that they are worth will increase as the competition progresses.

GAME OF THE WEEK

RAMS(+7.5) at LIONS - Call the game winner (including the spread)


1. Will “Greg The Leg” kick a successful Field Goal of 50 yards or more this week? Yes or No
$500 for the correct answer

2. Will either of Cortland Finnegan or Janoris Jenkins have an interception this week? Yes or No
$500 for the correct answer

3. Which Rams player will gain the most receiving yards in the game?
$1000 for the correct answer

4. Which Running Back rushes for more yards this week, Pead or D. Richardson?
$500 for the correct answer

5. Which AFC East team will concede the fewest points this week? (Both pay if tied)
$1000 for the correct answer

6. Name a Quarterback from any SUNDAY game this week that throws for 300 yards or more.
$750 for a correct answer

7. Who will throw for most yards this week - RGIII or Andrew Luck?
$500 for the correct answer

8. Name the winners of the following games. $500 for each correct prediction and a $1500 bonus for getting all three correct.
