Mock Starting '09 Rams Roster (off-season moves included)

Thought I'd give it a go. Okay:

    QB - Marc Bulger

    RB - Steven Jackson
    FB/2nd RB - Kenneth Darby

    TE - Randy McMichael

    WR - Donnie Avery
    WR - Devery Henderson

    LT - Orlando Pace
    LG - Jacob Bell
    C - Matt Birk
    RG - John Greco
    RT - Eugene Monroe

    DE - Chris Long
    DT - Adam Carriker
    DT - Clifton Ryan
    DE - Leonard Little

    OLB - Pisa Tinoisamoa
    MLB - Bart Scott
    OLB - Will Witherspoon

    CB - Sean Smith
    SS - James Butler
    FS - OJ Atogwe
    CB - Ron Bartell

    Special Teams

    LS - Chris Massey
KR/Punt R - Donnie Avery? (Not too sure on this one)
    P - Donnie Jones
    K - Josh Brown

    FA Signings are in BOLD
Draft picks are in BOLD and ITALICS

I don't think the team's FA signings will be any bigger than those, but guys like Birk and Scott are both top quality players at their position. Henderson and Butler are bang for buck guys that still have great potential to become even better. Mainly, it's my predicted departure of Holt and a couple of other guys (along the lines of Bennett, Green and of course Chavous) that frees up decent enough cap room to allow for the signings. I think the team wouldn't mind being able to spend even more $$ on players through cutting/trading Pace but mediocrity of the O-Line in recent years probably makes it ill-affordable to get rid of the one constant of good play, which has been no one but Pace, despite the injuries.

In the draft, I like the look of Monroe who would slot in nicely at RT, replacing the ever inconsistent Barron, and can learn the ropes of the LT position with one or two years experience as an NFL RT and under the guide of one of the game's greatest ever OT's. Sean Smith would be a nice defensive back to choose in the draft and could very easily be a starter right away at CB.

Of course this is only the starting line-up, so we're not going to see a total overhaul. I think a mock depth chart would go a much longer way to show just how great an amount of personnel changes this team is going to undertake this off-season.

No Ritchie Incognito, Alex Barron will start at RT. At this point hard to predict off-season moves. interesting list though!

Unless holt is cut and pace restructures his contact i don't know if the rams can afford to sign bartell, birk and scott. But that OL looks awesome, especially with barron and setterstrom as depth

I think Holt will be traded but, I think the Rams are going to find a way to sign Pace.
