FORMER-RAMS | Father of former RB Jerome Bettis dies

The Associated Press reports the father of former Pittsburgh Steelers RB Jerome Bettis died of a heart attack Tuesday, Nov. 28. He was 61. Johnnie Bettis reportedly suffered a heart attack while driving in a suburb north of Detroit, according to police officials. The elder Bettis managed to pull over and stop the vehicle as another motorist stopped to administer CPR. He was rushed to a suburban Detroit hospital, where he passed away. That is sad news. If there's a bright spot, it's that he got to see his son win a SB before he died.

I didn't buy him as a quarterback. He's just so stiff, especially when he drops back to pass. Really stiff. He reminds me of Kurt Warner.

Very sad news. Its hits hard when you lose your father. I lost mine to, also at the age of 61, which is still young. My prayers are are with the whole Bettis family

This is really sad. I couldn't imagine never having the opportunity to say good-bye to those I love.
