Lately people on this board have been debating if we should release Wilkins and sign a new kid. Last night I think he showed us a reason to keep him. A 52 yard fg. That kick couldn't have been any more perfect. He's made his past 20 consecutive kicks from 48-52 yards away. How many other kickers in the league can be that accurate from that distance? In my mind this solidifies the idea that the missed kick just got into his mind and he was trying to hard to kick, and each miss just build up. Now that he kicked a good one I think the Jeff Wilkins of old will be back.

How many short kicks has he missed this year? For the money he's taking up in salary cap space, he should be dead on every single time. I say go with a young kid and use that valuable money elsewhere.

Re-negotiate pay (if applicable) and keep him.

Keep him and loose someone else.

OR

Cut his ageing, not as accurate, rear end.
