...When you ain't got nothin' (no expectations),
you got nothin' to lose (no disappointment).

    What a p.o.s. decade.

SB followed by 5 years of paying for players no longer on the team,
    that SOB Vermiel retiring,
palace intrigue that makes Machiavelli look like Jimmy Carter,
a decade of drafting D-linemenn with no hits,
drafting in the top 5 for five years of the highest rookie salaries in the history of the NFL,
constant injuries to the only players worth a ****,
finally getting a great (rookie) QB who has to learn 2 systems in as many years,
2 total busts at RT, (after LETTING FRED MILLER GO - WHY?),
paying through the ass for bad interior lineman,
did I mention LONDON FLETCHER IS STILL PLAYING (WELL),
    Warner getting ****canned and thriving,

and regardless of coaching, management, drafts, solar eclipses, terrorist attacks, wars, types of field turf,
uniforms, and fan support or lack thereof, we've seen the same **** on the field for ten ******* years.

At this point, however, I would describe how I feel as 'comfortably numb", meaning...

I knew we weren't going to the playoffs this year, so I honestly wasn't too concerned about our record.

I do admit to having high hopes as far as seeing improvement, but I tempered those with the (conveniently ignored by a lot of posters) fact that losing all of the off-season, AS IT APPLIES TO THE RAMS, was (is) insurmountable, period, given our adopting a new scheme with rookie receivers and a young QB.

Still, with all that said, I am disappointed, so I am (in SpagSpeak), taking it one game at a time. You can say it's only 4 games, but imo you're in denial. I'm also a little bemused by the fact that alot of us are focusing on how brutal the first half of the season is - guys, AT BEST, we split with Seattle: the Cards and ***** are each going to beat us twice. They're simply better teams.

Anyway, really do not mean to be a downer, (I'm usually pretty optimistic), but that's how I see the year, and in reality, it will take the team an additional 2-3 years to acquire the depth to become an annual playoff contender, so enjoy the ride - I know I will.

For me, I did not overlook anything.........I expected some basic fundamental steadiness from this year's team ESPECIALLY going into Spags third year and that is his mantra. That is my true disappointment.

As for this year, I can say that during my Ram fan tenure, this one is as tough as 1990 was for me. 2002 I still had the Super Bowl glow of never expecting it to happen in my lifetime!
