Honestly? And most of you may laugh at me for this, sticking with Marmie's plan. The last few games, teams have not been able to run on the Rams. It's up to the secondary to FINALLY makes some dad gum plays. However, the way the Front Four is playing right now is about as good as it has ever been under the Martz era and I have a feeling it's all due to Marmie.
Steven Jackson's increased involvement. No question in my mind.
From the opposing perspective, the most important midseason move has been Michael Boulware starting at safety over Terreal Bierria. You'll remember Bierria as the guy that McDonald toasted for the touchdown in OT at Qwest Field. Boulware had five INTs as a rookie nickel linebacker (he was an OLB at Florida State), and he has done some amazing things with his new position. His ascent has solidified the Seahawks' secondary.
I went with Kennedy. The improvement of the defense (did you realize they moved all the way up to 17th in the league in yards allowed?) took place when he returned and became a starter. I think his presence along side Pickett has made life a bit easier for the rest of the D.
I went with the O Line, thats where the the game starts and finishes.
also, replacing coady, who replaced aneas, with a. edwards seems to have solidified the backfield a bit...
but tex...the rams d have not really stopped any running back the past month or more...our linebackers and safeties are horrible against the run on a consistent basis, being out or position by over running plays and flat out bad tackling...
Martin really didn't hurt us all that much, and the front four has improved.
I think Marmie's defensive scheme is going to be something to be proud of either before this season is over or next year.
Just a hunch.
You folks are missing something. Manu's receiving abilities. Do you think MB would have had the confidence to throw into triple coverage against the Jets if Manu hadn't made the catch he did against Seattle? Those two catches, under excrutiating pressure, make the TE a threat that wasn't there at the beginning of the year. Now if he just didn't have to help the RT so much.
great point. Manu has really come on.
You mean Curtis not Jaimie right? :tongue:Quote:
