My analysis on the Rams downfall...
On a lighter note happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!! I love clanram and will continue to post here and be contributor through thick and thin...
Onto the post at hand...
As I am watching this Packers vs.Detroit game, beer in hand happy I have the day off of work and watching football I could not help but start pondering through my nightmares that are the Rams.
Front office: Billy Devaney should have a good chunk of the blame for this team's continued demise. How is that teams like the steelers or the packers can find Wr gems in the middle rounds yet we blank on every one?
Jordy Nelson was a 3rd round pick out of kansas State 3 years ago, now is a solid WR. We drafted Donnie Avery who is out of the league now. Last year the steeler draft emmanuel sanders and antonio brown we draft mardy gilyard, whos out of league.
Looking at the Lions who signed Tulloch and Durant who has turned the linebacking core for the Lions to become a solid ballclub. We signed Leber who does nothing, a crappy 2 down player in Poppinga and were back to square one. Those 2 examples are a microcism to our lack of success...
We can blame Spags all we want, but it starts with and ends with the players we have on the team...

Yeah I can't decide if my gut hurts because of too much food or the loss of Robinson to the Cowboys.!

Re: My analysis on the Rams downfall...
Its the combination of terrible drafting, terrible coaching (Robinson), and the lack of execution when players come here.

Re: My analysis on the Rams downfall...
Two words:
PLAYER DEVELOPMENT
That includes coaching and conditioning. I think with Linehan development was HUGE issue, which is why so many of our draft picks just didn't work out. I am starting to wonder now that with all these injuries piled up over the Spags era if player conditioning is an issue (which may not be his fault this year, depending on how the players conditioned themselves during the lockout). I like how several of the defensive players are turning out (Quinn, Long, and Laurinaitis are becomming absolute studs), but how can we explain a guy like Robinson having several issues here, and then exploding in Dallas? The defense has played well for the past several weeks, and would have been even better if the offense could help any in the field position battle (see last week!!!). The offense... I'm hesitant to get too down on McDaniels since the team missed an entire offseason with a young QB to learn it, but if this was the second year I would be extremely upset. I really hope to see improvement over the last few games here.

Re: My analysis on the Rams downfall...
Conditioning has to be apart of it, the guys that were slumping got injured might have to do with disinterested players already down on the season not focusing 100% and getting hurt ... it happens.

Re: My analysis on the Rams downfall...
I agree the FO deserves a lot of the blame, but I don't think Laurent Robinson is a fair example. He did nothing when he was here to indicate that he could stay healthy and produce.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!
