Jared Cook for me. Maybe because of all the hype my expectations were too high. This guy did have some good games but he also disappeared in a few games. I want to see positive consistency from Cook.
ramsbruce and Torry Holt like this.

My guess is less per game. But here is something to consider, he now has the whole off-season to get stronger and prepare for the beating he will take. Last year he was doing all the combine stuff and preparation for the draft so maybe he can now get into a program to help him be better prepared for what he now knows is the life of an NFL back.

Avenger I'm usually with you, but you're wrong, so what he's not 6'3, but he's effective. Marshall Faulk wasn't 6'3 but was a much better back than Steven Jackson, and Steven Jackson was a good Back for this team. Zac Stacy is the truth, he passes the eye test in my book. I believe you opinion is based on your opinion and that's not a sound foundation.

Without getting into details, let's just say that I couldn't possibly disagree more with this assertion.

Stacy will be fine. Yeah he's not as big as SJ, but he's still built sturdy. He has thick powerful thighs, and always falls through the tackle, or falls forward. Sure he got knicked up, but every NFL player gets hurt or plays with some type of pain during the season. Stacy never really got injured, even as the workhorse he was last year.

I gotta agree with Cook being the most overrated Ram. An all-time Rams TE season was still only mediocre.

So your opinion is right, and mine is merely an opinion?

    Okay, then.

P.S. Height is irrelevant to this issue.

With all the attention Quinn got this year, Long should have been a lot more impressive. He makes plays from time to time, but he is often blocked one on one or with a tight end. If he last name wasnt long and he wasnt the former #2 overall pick in the draft, i dont think he would get the credit or attention that he currently does. Dont get me wrong, i like the guy and think he gives great effort, but to me, he is really another Grant Wistrom with a much bigger salary. Good, not great and overated. I also dont see him improving in the future, although i would love to be wrong. 2014 is a big year for Long, because Quinn wont surprise anyone anymore, teams will have to game plan for him and you would think that Longs numbers would really benefit as a result (see what happened with Fred Dryer as Youngblood emerged as unblockable).

I'd agree. Long is purely a pass rush specialist and poor against the run. Quinn was supposed to be the guy who was just a pass rusher but has dramatically improved against the run and doesn't just bury his head into a blocker's shoulders and go straight towards the QB like Long does over and over as RB's go by. Quinn really upped his game all-around and Long seems stuck in sack-or-nothing mode.

For his contract and the fact that teams pay more attention to Quinn now than him yet he's not excelling because of that, he gets my vote.

Also, I'd say Wistrom was better against the run He could run down rushing plays from the backside and wasn't totally one-dimensional.

We'll see what the Rams' brain trust thinks because if they were to draft Clowney, that would speak volumes. I'd rather have Matthews and don't think that Long is a liability on the team, but he's not a superstar and never will be.

Its amazing. Long is poor against the run, Laurinatis is overrated, Langford is a disappointing FA, and Ogletree is undisciplined, but somehow the Rams run D was top 10 last year.

    Go figure.

It's typically what happens when you have a S living in the box.

I certainly think Stacy fits the "feature back" category. He did get dinged up, but he played through the injuries, and was effective doing it. I love what he has to offer, and look forward to him carrying the load in 2014 (hopefully with a healthy, improved OL).

Re: My current "most overrated Ram" may surprise you.

If Stacy's overrated in a sense that people are convinced that he's a "true" feature back, then I agree. Seeing him go for some water after a big gainer occasionally shows he isn't a workhorse halfback. Doesn't mean it's a bad thing, I actually prefer the RB-by-committee approach also because it gives us a fresh set of legs against fatigued defenses.

I'll go with the free agent everybody says we need back. Roger Saffold is a decent lineman but with his injury history he's nowhere near the necessary free agent that must be resigned. Snead let SJax and Amendola go last year I think he does the same if the money isn't right for Saffold.
