My dog won't stop eating paper.

My dog, Rocky, has a weird habit of eating paper.

I try to explain to Rocky that eating paper is bad for him. After all, its not food, and he can't digest it. What's more, he is never lacking in available dog food, so his eating of paper makes no sense at all.

Still, he insists on eating paper.

Sometimes, I think maybe he's getting the message. He'll go for a piece of paper, and I'll yell "no," and he'll walk away from it. Then, five minutes later, he's trying to get at it again.

Maybe the problem is me.

Maybe I should just accept that, no matter how stupid he is for eating paper, no matter how little logic there is in his doing so, I can't stop him. He probably just lacks the capacity to consider reason and logic, and its silly for me to even try to get him to do so.

Really, its not Rocky's fault.

In his mind, eating paper is right.

No matter how wrong he is, he'll always believe its right.

I should just accept it, even though I know eating paper is just plain wrong.

Bit of chili smeared on that paper will fix your problem. Let me know how it goes, I know dogs can be troublesome.

The fact that Rocky, after eating paper, ends up barfing it back up, pretty much establishes who is in the right.

Perhaps he is commenting on the dog food you give him? Cats eat grass to make themselves puke, perhaps the dog needs to puke and knows from experimental experience as a pup that paper enables him.
