My First Preseason "I Told You So"

For those of you who follow these boards, I've been talking up Victor Adeyanju since well before the draft.

Last night, he made me look really good. He demonstrated the ability to hold up against the run, speed rush on stunts and bull-rush (when was the last time we've seen a good bull rush from a Ram DE?). Let's hope he keeps it up.

One thing is certain, though... Tony Hargrove better keep an eye on this guy. He may take his job (which, by the way, I predicted a few weeks ago would happen by opening day).



P.S. Yes, I know that saying "I told you so" is obnoxious.

avenger,i agree with you,adeyanju looked good and if hargrove doesnt pick it up by sept. 10 he will be watching from the sidelines,but it is only one game,so hargrove still has time to impress.also how many people can spell ADEYANJU without looking it up ?

I will give you that AV, but I have been talking up Wroten and he looked very good. Did anyone talk up Rice? Three sacks!

Brandon Green also did a good job too. And our whole backup line was good! Wroten and Victor were IMO the leaders

The Colts have lost something like 7 straight preseason games but are a playoff team every year. What's my point? Success/failure in preseason does not necessarily equate to the regular season.

Yes, Wroten and Adeyanju had good games last night and I too am excited about these youngsters but until they play the Broncos in September it's all speculation still.

I too was impressed with Rice. I like to see how he does against the second string. I want to see if what he did is for real or a fluke

Sorry, AV ... :bored: I think that's a correct statement from R8rh8rmike at this point, kidding or not.

We are quite fortunate to have a healthy DE race between Adeyanju and Hargrove. Absolutely! But as we all keep saying or stressing, it is a pre-season game, and the first one at that.

Nevertheless, I too enjoyed reading about the performance from these two promising players (was unable to see live the 1st Qtr). Win-win situation for the fans, of course.

Can't wait to see how both players develop towards the season opener!

Sure he looked good against the backups, but I would save the "I told you so" until Victor plays with our first string, and against some first string competition.

I think the overall concensus is that they didn't look lost under the new regime. And it is only P-season,but it was a positive note to say the least!

Slow down now. Our defense was last or near last in all categories last season. We have a lot more weapons we have to face this year from our division rivals (VD, Edge, etc) and there is no way we could be a top 5 defense. Most of the game was 2nd vs 2nd and 3rd vs 3rd, so this game is meaningless in regards to detemining any real result of the 2006 season, just as meaningless as your prediction.
