My "Safe for 2012" Rankings
I was thinking about which players are likely to be back as starters in 2012.
Here is my ranking of the primary starters from 2011 in terms of which are most likely to be 2012 opening day starters (at the same position they started at this year). Here's what I came up with:
Group 1: The "Locks" (aka "The Core")
1. Sam Bradford
2. Steven Jackson
3. James Laurinaitis
4. Chris Long
5. Brandon Lloyd*
6. Quintin Mikell
7. Harvey Dahl
Group 2: The "Probables" (aka "The Serviceable")
8. Ron Bartell**
9. Brad Fletcher**
10. Fred Robbins
11. Rodger Saffold
12. Lance Kendricks
Group 3: The "Questionables" (aka "The Replaceables")
13. James Hall
14. Darien Stewart
15. Britt Miller
16. Justin Bannan
17. Jacob Bell
18. Jason Brown
19. Jason Smith
Group 4: The "Doubtfuls" (aka "I hope nots")
20. Brandon Gibson
21. Brady Poppinga
22. Chris Chamberlain
23. Ben Leber
24. Justin King
*If resigned
**If healthy
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: My "Safe for 2012" Rankings
Nice list but I'd probably make a few adjustments. For one, I'd add Fred Robbins to the "I hope not" list. It is time for a younger, more productive DT, IMO.
Same for James Hall, except this is only because I expect Quinn to take over at DE on a full-time basis.
And finally, Darien Stewart looks like a "probable" to me.

Re: My "Safe for 2012" Rankings
id love to see a full roster of this and not just 24. leaves me with a lot of questions with just less then half a full roster.
Ill give an opinion then.

Re: My "Safe for 2012" Rankings
How in the world do you have Darian Stewart as questionable? He leads ALL NFL safeties in passes defensed, and is getting better and better each weak. He has incredible range for a very young player.

Re: My "Safe for 2012" Rankings
There is absolutely no question in my mind that quinn and salas will be on the rams roster next year, health permitting, and stewart is pretty close (good young player, low salary). I have a hard time seeing a scenario where kendricks isnt back.

Re: My "Safe for 2012" Rankings
ITS NOT A ROSTER
Its a list of who is currently a starter, and the rankings are based on whether they should return as starter or not
The only one i disagree on in Avengers list is Darrien Stewart, who should be starting next year

Re: My "Safe for 2012" Rankings
Its a personal opinion, why doesn't everyone just relax? It clearly says "MY" in the title. We all think differently, and I myself would change a few things too.

Re: My "Safe for 2012" Rankings
I think you need to see Josh Gordy given a full time shot to actually play on this defense. You have a healthy Fletcher, Bartell,Murphy and Gordy and that is a solid backfield.

Re: My "Safe for 2012" Rankings
A good thread, AV. The saddest part for me is to acknowledge, as you do, that 3 of our starting OL men are "replaceable". Especially given that we have spent so much treasure to draft and/or sign them.
