We must get the DE position solidified. If we pass on Chris Long shame on us we'll regret it for years. Aside from him maybe we consider a trade with a team several slots beneath us and go for Vern Gohlston of Ohio State; but we must came away with a premier DE from this abysmal season!

Great player no doubt about it, but he is not worth it at pick 2. I think our pick has to be Jake Long its almost like we don't have an option not to pick him if he is available. We need a pace successor, some depth is critical, and i think Barron has proven he is a RT and nothing more.

Now I'm not saying that anyone would be stupid enough to repeat what the Vikings did, but I think it would be reasonable to assume that someone (the Cowboys, perhaps) who wanted Jackson enough would be willing to put together a package of picks that would help us out tremendously.

The fly in the ointment here is that S. Jackson is a free agent after the '08 season. I really seriously doubt that the 'Boys (or anyone else for that matter) would pay a premium for a player that could walk after next year. And when you factor in that Jackson really has only played one full year where he remained injury free, this also has to be a consideration when calculating his trade value.

I agree. The potential scenario reminds me of the trade that sent Hershell Walker to Minnesota for 5 players and 6 draftpicks. The trade helped make the Cowboys one of the premier teams of the 90's.

True...if we lost Jackson, that would be a really dumb move. we already have a good running back. no need to get another oneand ruin the low cap we already have

The jackson thing is interesting. This town overall does not appreciate what he is; a top 5 nfl running back. He is someone to build a franchise around.

However, if the town doesnt appreciate him, he may be likely to test free agency. So, if you trade him, you can still get value for him.

That said, Just sign one of the best running backs in the league to a long-term deal. (cap permitting)

However Feneca costs a bit too much. And he's kinda old too...

We cant just focus on NEXT season. We gotta look at seasons to come.

Therefore, keeping Jackson would be a good choice. He's a young player, only going to improve a bit till he hits that age like Marshall did.

Getting Long in the free agent then signing a FA OL would solidify our offensive line if we can manage to stay healthy.

I think feneca has a few seasons left in him so it wouldn't be just for next season
and you need to improve each season and feneca would do that and when he no longer performs you replace him whether its a couple of years or five years later
