Re: Nelson survives one camp, thats all!
You're right Wraith, quite a lot of press for a long-shot. He hasn't played football in, what, eight years? He was worth checking out, but the odds he'd actually be the next Gates were slim to begin with.

Here we go. Expect "changes" aplenty, more roster cuts than additions as weeks go by.
Best wishes, Nelson.

Rams | Nelson struggled to pick up football terminology
Mon, 15 May 2006 18:27:59 -0700
ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports the St. Louis Rams released rookie free agent TE Ed Nelson because he struggled at times to assimilate football terminology. A few other teams inquired about Nelson after the draft, so there is a chance that one will offer him at least a tryout. Nelson will take some time to see if other teams indicate an interest in him before determining the direction of his future. Nelson was regarded as a longshot to make the roster.

I don't blame him. Alot of those terms are big. And plus from going from College Basketball to NFL Football is one heck of a jump to make.

Re: Nelson survives one camp, thats all!
He doesn't get the football language. Like types of coverages and all that.

Re: Nelson survives one camp, thats all!
LOL Can you imagine playing a "deep post pattern" Vs. "playing the post" confusion?
