With the new rookie class set, which veteran is most likely gone?

I see no scenario in which butler is back next year. I can envision byrd being on the roster, albeit a longshot.

I think if Andy is healthy, he will be at least a back up. JB would provide depth, and like it or not JK is still the starting NT for now. I say Byrd would be the odd man out as I do not think they will carry 4 TE's.

I think if Byrd can stay out of trouble with the law, and improve his blocking a tad then aaron walker will be on the way out, but i think butler will definetly be going, although having a former starter as dimeback isn't bad in terms of depth

JB must be gone.
Carry four CBs in Brown, Hill, Bartell and Wade. And you have to remember that Chavous sometimes plays corner in certain packages. So we pretty much have five CBs on the roster ahead of Butler

I used to pick all of the above for these type of questions. Which might have been right for this one. But you didn't give me the option soI picked Kennedy more so in HOPEs that he is out.

Re: With the new rookie class set, which veteran is most likely gone?
I think Butler is out, after we signed all those trash CB's (Walls etc.) that just told me the coaching staff (still) has absolutely zero confidence in using Butler. Us drafting a 3rd round CB doesn't help either. Butler's gone.

I say McCollum fights his way back on. This would be good.

Re: With the new rookie class set, which veteran is most likely gone?
Totally agree, 4ramin! :r
I know there are a few fans that think Andy is too long in the tooth. However, I see him as the Dean of our OL, experienced 'a-plenty' (can play left / right Guard in addition to Center), and plays with a big heart -- a la Tom Nütten.
Due to the early and tough injury he suffered last season, he's had time to rest and, hopefully, will be ready to provide veteran leadership and depth. I think The Old Pro might be ready and willing to extend his lengthy career one more year before the changing of the guard.

I said Butler, but if there was a button for all of the above......that would have been my choice.

Re: With the new rookie class set, which veteran is most likely gone?
Butler. Doesn't help that the Rams were trying to move him this weekend. The addition of Wade in the third combined with Walls and Rumph as free agents means Butler is too expensive for someone that far down on the depth chart. #23 will be freed up for Brian Leonard soon enough.

Re: With the new rookie class set, which veteran is most likely gone?
I think Butler and Byrd are both gone. I wouldn't normally see a draft pick as pushing a veteran out this soon, but when coupled with a flurry of vets brought in to compete, it would appear these two are on their way out.
Rumph, Walls, and now Wade........probably don't let the door hit you, Butler
McMichael, Walker, and now Leonard (H-back potential).........probably bye bye Byrdie"Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

By far, its going to be Dane Looker, his only role right now is to hold. He will surely be cut and replaced with a player who can contribute more to special teams. On top of that Linehan/Olson would have to carry five receivers.
