New WR joins St. Louis Rams
By Bill Coats
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
The Rams hit the practice fields this morning with a new roster member — wide receiver Sean Walker, an undrafted rookie from Vanderbilt. Walker is 6 feet, and his college weight was 178.
Walker, a native of Louisville, Ga., had 77 catches for 1,103 yards and nine TDs at Vandy. More impressively, he graduated earlier this month with dual degrees — elementary education, and human and organizational development.
All for now . . . we’ll have more after practice.

Nice post Jake. Walker looks quick, nifty and is obviously a smart guy. He's not afraid to give himself props on the website either. It will be interesting to see how he does in camp.
Re: New WR joins St. Louis Rams
There are alot of wide receivers available; Harrison, Hillard, Toomer.
I don't understand why can't we sign one of these players to a cheap one year deal.

Because they are old we are rebuilding the team with a young nucleus. We will continue to develop the young WRs we have especially Avery, Burton, Robinson, Foster, and Stanley

Right but you cant convince me that one of those receivers would hurt the roster.

May the cream of the crop in this group rise to be our best Rams receivers. Youth is good and I think we have a good start from our 2nd year men. If Looker remains a 2009 Ram, he can become a good mentor as well.

True that, but the wide receivers I listed wouldn't hurt the team. I think one of them would help the team.

Looker's no longer a Ram. he's a FA and Rams haven't shown much interest in resigning him.
Re: New WR joins St. Louis Rams
I happen to be a believer in the youth movement and am all for looking at as many young prospects as possible and potentially find a diamond in the rough. I disagree completely with those that want us to sign an aging veteran to a one year deal. I do not believe that a one year deal with any of the veterans available would do anything at all to improve our roster, especially in what is an obvious time of rebuilding. I think that the idea of "veteran mentoring" is a desirable cliche, but I tend to believe that bringing someone into a new system with the idea that they can help the young receivers is counter productive to what the team is trying to build. That is what coaches are for and I give my 100% support to our new regime.

Harrison has been getting ahold of no one. When last checked he wanted big money and no one called him.. He might as well b retired.. Same with the other guys, they still are looking for pay check we are not interested in handing out.. This has all been said before many many times...
