NFL Power Rankings Week 5
ESPN

Rams

Last Week: 25 The Rams are 1-0 in NFC West after going 4-26 in the division from 2007-2011. (Sando)
CBS Sports
18 At 2-2, they've proven to be feisty at home. They will battle you at their place, that's for sure. 6(24)

Rams
2-2 +7 18/27
When you don't match up from a talent perspective, you must manufacture points with scheme and creativity. That is exactly what the Rams' fake field goal was on Sunday, and the greatest part about it was it was a fake that had no risk. If Amendola was covered, they just simply kick the FG. Brilliant job by Jeff Fisher.
So we moved up 6-7 spots this week... if we beat the Cards where will that put us in the eyes of the media types?
Most have the Cards in the top 5. I don't think they are that good.

Re: NFL Power Rankings Week 5
The Cardinals aren't as good as their record indicated but they are still good enough to beat the Rams on Thursday. If the Rams did pull off a victory I would say the Rams would jump to the 10-13 range in the Power Rankings. Even though I think the Rams defense will be able to contain the Cards offense for much of the game, I think it will be the Rams offense that struggles. With the Rams struggling on offense the defense will take a hit in the late 3rd and early 4th quarters. Cardinals 24 Rams 13.

Re: NFL Power Rankings Week 5
The RAMS would more than likely be 3-1, and the Lions 0-4, if it wasn't for some hometown clock management and officials catering to the home team. But I will take an 18-19 power ranking after being in the upper 20s and 30s for the past few years.

Well we had Seahawk for the appetizer. Why not Cardinal for the main course?!

Re: NFL Power Rankings Week 5
Did anyone else notice that the two teams immediately ahead of us happen to be the two teams we've beaten, both of whom have the same record we do? It's beyond me how they come up with these rankings if they're going to ignore recent head-to-heads, which would seem like about the best indication possible this early in the season as to which team is better.

The funniest power rankings this week is on the very Seahawks biased Shutdown Corner blog.
In it you can just feel the bitterness of the Seahawks loss pouring out of the screen while you read it!
