Re: Nominations for the 2012 ClanRam Wall of Fame
Please note that we have adjusted the ClanRam Hall of fame to show from 1997, the year ClanRam went live online

Names were picked by the mods, so for 2012, please adjust your nominations, thanks.
I have also left 1997 free for the time being and would like to have nominations for this special position

Re: Nominations for the 2012 ClanRam Wall of Fame
I stand by my 2012 Issac Bruce nomination
He was a staple in our offense the whole time he was in the offense. Does anyone remember bruce dropping a ball I almost believe he had his entire career with straight completions. Bruce was instrumental in helping out holt to help him become a pro bowl player. He made holt look pretty good. And of course bruce had the td in the superbowl they wont catch him today will always stick in my memory. He never spoke out that I seen holt talked alittle bit but I never heard a word from the reverend. Guy was always a class act. Bruce if no one remembers is second in yards in a season in 1995 then he helped holt get to be ranked 5th and 9th all time in a season. Plus he is all time in receiving yards for the rams and 3rd behind jerry rice and t.o.
As for the 1997 I would say The Dutchman or Bob Waterfield (maybe even split the award between the two lol)

Re: Nominations for the 2012 ClanRam Wall of Fame
It is hard -- and IMO, senseless-- to refute a nomination for HOF DT Olsen, the gentle giant. That formidable foursome frontline of Rams defense: L. Lundy, R. Grier / R. Brown, Olsen, and D. Jones was unique. Fantastic Four. And Merlin's achievements were tops even among them.
Olsen became one of the finest players in NFL history, and among the top three DTs of all time.
[Ironman J. Slater, another fine and superb HOF, all-Ram player (for 20 years), is closely next to the Mighty Mule.]

Re: Nominations for the 2012 ClanRam Wall of Fame
London Fletcher. Vermeil has said publicly that Fletcher was to the defense as Warner was to the offense.

Dez, so sorry for my 'mentalis brutalis' lapsus. Too distracted to see.
I am then going for London Fletcher as well, for his tremendous contribution to our D.

Re: Nominations for the 2012 ClanRam Wall of Fame
Dez,
Nice to see you do this. I think it needed to be done. I was going to suggest that you needed to invoke some kind of catch-up clause to start a wall of fame, but I did not want to step on anyone's toes.
That being said, it would have been nice to have some input from the general membership or at least some of the senior members. Personally, I think there is a core group of former Rams players that any list like this needs to start with. That core group is as follows:
MERLIN OLSEN
BOB WATERFIELD
TOM FEARS
LES RICHTER
TOM MACK
JACK YOUNGBLOOD
JACKIE SLATER
Each player from this core group is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and each played their entire career with our Rams. With all due respect to the mods, they left out three players from this group of Rams.
Once again I am very pleased to see you take this action with the ClanRam Wall of Fame. Thanks Dez!
I will post my new nominations in a subsequent post.

Re: Nominations for the 2012 ClanRam Wall of Fame

For the 2012 ClanRam Wall of Fame I nominate: Kurt Warner
One could write a book on why Kurt deserves to be on our Wall of Fame. I'll give just one simple reason: He's our only Super Bowl MVP.
For the 1997 ClanRam Wall of Fame I nominate: Bob Waterfield
Waterfield is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and is a link to our Rams in Cleveland, having led them to victory in the 1945 NFL title game. Waterfield played his entire career with our Rams.
