Josh - will become famous soon enoughJosh - will become famous soon enough
a noobies thoughts.

I think the Donnie avery pick and the kennan burton pick will be 2 that the NFL will see stand out over the next 10 years. I remember seeing Torry Holt And Isaac Bruce walk out of the tunnel together. seeing that intimidating. HOLT/BRUCE Combo. while holt is not as young as ike was when we drafted our future hall of famer. (Holt) It still gives me the goose bumps just thinking of the future with the AVERY/BURTON Combo. we got the Burner in avery. and the more polished Reciever in Burton. With torry holt and henery ellard teaching these young guns, it is only a matter of time before we see them burning up the dome once again.

ok. so i am a little optimistic.

what-thank-u?

Re: a noobies thoughts.

We can only hope that the guys we picked this year become our next wide receiver duo. It'll be great, and with the Saunders' system, it'll be fun watching our Rams newbies play.

Welcome to the board

Noobie evolved from n00b which evolved from newbie... or something.

Nice to have you here, Josh, glad to see some optimism.

Re: a noobies thoughts.

Certainly hope you're right, but time will tell us soon enough. I hope these guys sign quickly too. WR is one of those positions that you really need to be in camp for.

Re: a noobies thoughts.

That sure would be nice. It's always hard to tell how players will pan out (and getting two greats from one draft would be very lucky), but I have hope that Avery will at least emerge as a solid number two in time. With Burton, my expectations are lower. I'd like to see him become a good possession receiver along the lines of say a Ricky Proehl or Dane Looker, but I don't expect a gamebreaker.

Re: a noobies thoughts.

Welcome to the clan Josh. I was a bit surprised and happy when they picked up two WRs in the draft. I like the fact that Burton can catch even when he is being double covered. If Holt and his knee are doing better this season, the defenders could have a hard time figuring out who to cover. Avery has lots of speed and he will be exciting to watch.

There will be a lot of competition for the WRs in camp this year and that is a good thing.

Re: a noobies thoughts.

After More research, I would Like to say that I think these guys will be great.. all of those years Seeing Holt and Bruce running out of the tunnel together just makes me think that these two recievers, avery/burton have the best chance of being great compared to other rookie wideouts, we have the Best wide reciever coach ever in henery ellard, one of the best recievers in Torry holt, These guys will have pin point accuracy when it comes to running routes. I see it coming big time, and they may be the biggest Key in keeping the rams in st.louis.

Re: a noobies thoughts.

Avery will be used like Hakim in time. I can't see him as a Bruce or Holt. Daunte Hall might be able to teach him how to use that tunnel vision in returning kicks, he is FAST! What we have now will hold us until Holt retires or moves on. When that time comes we will be able to get a high impact receiver. But yeah I can't wait to see the field open up and Jackson exploding down the middle. This is no 4-12 team believe me you!

I agree with that!

Here's a vision. Avery and Stanley flying down opposite sidelines, Burton and McMike crossing the middle, Bulger being protected and Action Jackson coming out or running it out...............who gets the coverage?

And yes, I think Stanley has skills.
