Now We Have Bartell, Who Else Starts At CB?

Will it be King, Hill or Wade? Even Manning Jr.?

Or are there any other prospects available via the Draft, Free Agency or Trade that you have your eye on?

Let's keep this good thing going, Clan.

Question for me is, is Hill realistically only a nickle back? ***Warning - Understatement**** I'd like to see Hill take a step FORWARD this season with Spag's. I am rooting for Wade and King too though.

i believe Manning is a UFA so we`d have to re-sign him..but in his brief time with us before getting injured and what he done before joining us..i believe he is atleast worth giving the chance to compete by a spot on our roster ...then the best man wins between him,Hill,King,Wade and whoever else we end up having on our books.

i dont think we should spend another high pick on a CB this year unless we somehow filled the other more pressing holes since the re-signing of R.B!

Whats up with Craft ? Is he a FA ? If so we shou;ld re-sign him. He played better then any of the above mentioned.

Craft is indeed a UFA...at 33 and the fact that he is a "Haslett guy",its questionable if he will be brought back in...tho i would say that would be more due to his age because i too thought he played pretty well for the majority of his limited time with us.

I hope we bring back Manning, but I would love to see Justin King come back and get it. Im probably just dreaming, but he knows the plays and he has hit the weight room.

I think Justin King will be our starter opposite of Bartell. King will be ready to go by the start of the season.

It's an open position that will be won in camp and I like that. That makes everyone play that much better, or should.

All kidding aside, the guy I hope emerges is King. He has good size, and is locked up for a few more years. If he can win the #2 spot, the Rams should be in good shape at CB.

Wow I had no idea he was that old. I guess we hope for developments from Wade and King and see who emerges.

Did you all know King was the second fastest man at the draft last year behind only Chris Johnson. King ran a 4.31 and Johnson a 4.25.

He was also only 20 years old when we drafted him, and as he hasnt played yet ,it`s basically like having another "invisible" draft pick this year...and i dont know how much he has been doing with the Rams due to his injury but he has spent a year on the books of an NFL team so i should imagine he has atleast learnt something about the way the NFL works in his year on the sidelines with the Rams despite the fact he is yet to actually play a regular season Down..

Re: Now We Have Bartell, Who Else Starts At CB?

IMO teams need three good CB's and IMO two of the three we mentioned could very easily be busts. Here would be an interesting guy in the draft that might fall to us in round 4 or 5. He might be worth a look depending on whats left on the board. He has more size then any of our CB's and he has good speed.
    Domonique Johnson 6'2 200 4.4 40 (his fastest 4.32)

I do like Kings potential because he has average height and good speed.

Here is a scouting report on King.

    Justin King
    6'0 186

The Good: King has developed nicely on the corner, displaying fine speed and quickness to match up in man and zone coverage with the nationís fastest receivers. He has great quickness to close on the ball and has improved his awareness and instincts. He has good footwork and the speed and hips that allow him to turn and make up ground quickly. He has developed good read-and-react skills in coverage and is adept in zone coverage.

The Bad: His lack of experience and height creates problems - especially in jump-ball situations. He lacks the size to play tough press coverage against bigger wide receivers and will have trouble getting a jam on them at the line. As a tackler, he needs to wrap up properly - especially in the open field - if he expects to see time early as a nickel cornerback.

I think We will start off with Hill as the starter since he has the most experience, If doesn't play to his potential I think King or Wade will eventually take his spot.
