    Re: NT Clifton Ryan

if you take out the 4th and 1 , 43-yard run by gore , he was 19 carries-38 yards . that is a huge 1 game swing . i thought the defense came to the game to win . i put this loss on the offensive line , for the amount of sacks ( what the 9rs get , like 12) , the receivers , mainly the drops by the TE's . some of this falls on bulger also . but mostly i think that i disagree with alot of the play calling . i'm sorry , i know most of the rams short stuff was not getting complete( 3-incomplete short passes to TE's in the 4th qtr alone that i counted) but on the last play, i would have marched jackson out there and said , we either run it for 3-yards and a first down , or pass to jackson for 3-yards and a first down . i would have made the team win that , not a 56-yard FG by the kicker , with a minute left to go . this team needed to prove something to themselves and everyone else . and the coaches made the wrong call .

Definitely an unexpected bright spot along with Bartell.

I was excited about that score too Rambos until I remembered it was the Cardinals, who always find a way to lose. 17-17 in the third.

I hear Bro, I'm still hoping!!! This is the Cards they are ready to have a break out year, today would be a good time to start.

I would love nothing better than to have the Cardinals gut this one out and not roll over. The sad part about all this is that we already need help to salvage a season that's only two games old. I am encouraged by the young guys like Ryan stepping up and doing their part though.

Well, the cards just got a fumble and kicked the winning field goal... so that puts the division at SF: 2-0, 2-0, ARI: 1-1, 1-1, SEA: 1-1, 0-1, STL: 0-2, 0-1

This makes me feel better, honestly. Well said TR. :r

I've been rooting for CR since we drafted him (just one of those players you like from the beginning) and I really hope he continues to play well, gain confidence, and help build the middle of the DL along with AC.

:bash: Keep up the good work young man. Every game.

It kind of scares me though, it seems like these coachs are very reluctant to make serious changes to be successful. The best interior DL combo that the Rams have is Carriker at UT and Ryan at NT, but even late in the game Glover was still coming out.

Lets go with the best option to win.

I think it's a good idea to rotate the defensive linemen to keep them fresh. I like the prospects for the future with Carriker and Ryan.

    Re: NT Clifton Ryan

I strongly agree, I would much rather start Carriker and Ryan than having Glover in there. Whenever I focused on Glover during the game I saw him getting pushed off the line of scrimmage (I'm talking run plays here) exactly like he and Jimmy Kennedy were last year, same old same old. Glover hasn't got the strength to hold his ground against the run anymore. I'd much rather take my chances with a hungry young gun like Ryan than relying on Glover, sure we know what we get with him, but it ain't any good, at best Glover is a rotational pass-rusher (he still has some moves) at this point (only bring him in at 3rd and long type situations). What an effort by Ryan today, he should have played his way into the starting lineup with this performance!

Look's like we might have a winner combo right there. As Country said:

...and I believe that is it, Carriker / Ryan. Indeed, I believe.

    Re: NT Clifton Ryan

You know, last week someone posted a thread suggesting that the run defense would look a lot better with Ryan, Carriker and Draft on the field together.

Now who was that who posted that thread?

    Can someone look that up?

Wait, I think I may remember...

    Oh, yeah... it was ME!!!!!
