    Null or Lewis

Who do you guys want to see Spags keep as our #3 QB? I am leaning towards Lewis, but I wouldn't be upset either way.

I like what Lewis has done. I like what Null has done. Keep both and put one on the practice squad?

    Re: Null or Lewis

I'd dump Feeley and keep both of them. AJ was horrible when he was healthy and on the field, why keep him just because he has veteran experience? Null and Lewis as our backups the next few years would save the team a lot of cash to invest elsewhere. If AJ starts a few games, are the Rams going to be more competitive than if they started Null?

If all you want is veteran experience hanging around Bradford to help guide him, hire a veteran to be on the coaching staff to do the job.

The tie breaker might be who is a better leader, Null or Lewis? That I cannot comment on.

    Re: Null or Lewis

For once I think rebelyell might actually be correct. Feeley was an old veteran brought in to ease Bradford into the system. At this point Bradford looks just fine with the system and will only improve with continued playing time behind the center. Feeley's experience isn't going to translate into more games being won. I feel that keeping Feeley around will only just hinder the progression of both Null and Lewis. Feeley needs to be the guy who goes to the practice squad or is just cut lose altogether.

Magic beans for Lineart ? Is that you o' Linehan, o' linnie?

BTW If we really did have magic beans I would use them for SB title.

I like Lewis for two different reasons, one being that he can run.

Not a bad idea...keep both...both have shown ability this preseason. if nothing else the Rams have trade-bait. Still what I have seen, Null is my choice, I like his ball throwing mechanics and seems to survay the filed better with his progression.

    Feeley

"Promote" Feeley to assistant QB Coach, and keep both Thad and Null.

Of course he would be the highest paid QB coach in the league, but hey this is Stan's money I'm talking about, not mine.

I second that, if it's possible.

    Re: Null or Lewis

Null has 4 games of NFL starting experience. Whether good or bad (and I think Peyton Manning would have had problems with the supporting cast that was around Null last year), it doesn't make organizational sense to throw that away so soon. I think you have to stick with Null if you have to make a choice.

On the other hand, I think Thad Lewis has clearly shown that he has the quarterback "knack". However, he definitely has some throwing mechanics issues and I think he would tend to run around too much in "real" games at this point.

Beyond that, Spags has to get away from this "what quarterback gives us the best chance to win" philosophy. Right now, there may not be a quarterback living that gives us a much better chance to win than Sam Bradford, Keith Null or Thad Lewis.

For A.J. to stay, he would have to convince me that he was 100% on board with playing the role that Jon Kitna did in Cincy. That mean's you're only going to play if Sam has an injury and the team is still at least remotely in it. If Sam, God forbid, has an injury and we're out of it, I would expect him to fill the same mentor role with Null or Lewis.

If A.J. is the type of guy to disrupt things if Sam struggles...he'd have to go in my books.

Lewis. Null is just a turnover magnet. Even if it's a strange play, the turnover seems to find him.
