Re: Number 1 Post-Draft Priority
id like us to get all the things on the list done...with making a run at Briggs being last on my list of priorities!
i voted "find a veteran pass rusher" as id like to get that done next and not a veteran that is in the twilight years of his carear...i dont know if we could get a good one whose say in his mid twenties but id like us to look for one a.s.a.p then on the next day sign bulger to a 6 year contract!

Re: Number 1 Post-Draft Priority
bulger and a pass rusher, but i am highly skeptical that we will find much pass rush wise. Part of this depends on halls rehab. lets hope he is fully recovered asap because if he doesnt, we will be truly desperate.

Re: Number 1 Post-Draft Priority
the most important to me is to sign Bulger to an extension, second on the list is getting another pass rusher, although James Hall isnt a bad pass rusher at all.

Re: Number 1 Post-Draft Priority
This one is a no brainer. Now that free agency is over, the Rams FO needs to sit down with Bulger and give him the big money contract he has earned. Once thats done, than we can go after another DE. I like Hall but, i'm highly concerned with his health. If he goes down anytime this year without a quality backup pass rusher our defense isn't going to stand a chance against anybody. DE was one of the deepest positions in the draft this year and we didn't come out with anybody, that's completely unacceptable.

Re: Number 1 Post-Draft Priority
Close between Bulger and maybe going after Jenkins again. Bulger deserves an extension, so I hope we get that done quick. I thought Carriker was a good pick at DE for us, as he was the best run-stopping DE in the draft.

Re: Number 1 Post-Draft Priority
I think signing Marc long term has to be the number one priority. I doubt we'll be going after Jenkins now. It seems like the coaching staff feel that Carriker is their man to make the difference in the middle of the D-line.
Getting another pass rusher would be nice but not taking one in the draft seems to indicate to me that Linehan is happy with what he has. If we sign another DE I think it's just going to be for depth and not a real difference maker.

Re: Number 1 Post-Draft Priority
At this point, first things first: Bulger. :r
AV, very nice signature you currently have on to welcome our new Rams!

Re: Number 1 Post-Draft Priority
Indeed, Re-sign Marc Big-Bulge Bulger (I always crack up at that)
I wouldn't mind revisiting the Kris Jenkins trade for 08' picks, although I don't think its going to happen, nor do I think it is a good idea at this point. (We might need those picks we get next year depending on how well or how poorly we do this season.) I would also like to see what Kennedy can do before we try to trade him, it'd be great to tell him that, perhaps a motivational speech to get his act together? Hopefully he plays well enough for us to want to keep him and extend his contract. If not, if we see that he is playing poorly before the trade deadline, I say trade him right then and there. But that isn't for quite awhile, right now, it's Bulger's extension, and Jackson's imo.

Re: Number 1 Post-Draft Priority
It has to be Bulger, without our franchise quarterback nothing else matters. Get him signed long-term now, if we do it after a brilliant season (which I have no doubts whatsoever he will have) he will be even more expensive.
That said I see our pass rush as a big big problem for next year, it will be as good (bad!) as last year, and it will seriously hamper us defensively. I'm disappointed we didn't come out of the draft stronger at DE, and I don't believe that we can find anyone in a trade/undrafted player now that will make a difference. Teams don't give up on their good pass-rushing DE's, you have to find them in the draft, and we didn't.

Re: Number 1 Post-Draft Priority
I'm kind of curious as to why so many people want to pursue Jenkins when we just drafted 3 DT's?, (Yes Carriker is going to start at DT)
As for Briggs, we already have a starting WSLB named Pisa.
A back up DE would be nice, but there are going to be some cuts coming in June.
