The official Hire Cowher thread.

I am pleading with the Rams front office. You look like idiots now but you could look like the best front office in the NFL if you go get Cowher for next year. Make him the highest paid coach in the NFL. You dont think it's worht it? Look at the product Losehan puts on the field. I know, I know we have lots of injuries so he should get a bye right. NO, he shouldnt get a bye, he put a qb on the field with broken ribs while a healthy and capable backup held the clip board. Then with the score 28-7 he decides Bulger isnt healthy enough to continue. Great coaching isnt it? Injuries aside this may be the worst coaching staff I've ever seen. There is too much talent on this team to look this bad. I can handle a losing record but the Rams should either be 2-2 or 1-3 with the injuries we have. Is it possible for the same franchise to hold the record for most points in a season and also the least? That may happen this year. Losehan has to go and Bill Cowher should be given an offer even watching his girls play soccer cant keep him from taking. IT IS WORTH THE MONEY AND WILL MAKE THE FRONT OFFICE LOOK VERY SMART. COWHER NEEDS TO BE SIGNED NOW!!!

Re: The official Hire Cowher thread.

I'm not so sure Coach Cowher would want the job. I think he'd like the Giants or perhaps even the Jets. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against the Rams getting Bill Cowher. I just don't think he's ready to move to St Louis.

Re: The official Hire Cowher thread.

I'd be all for Cowher, but I still think this is a more likely scenario

Bill Cowher: TV Analyst ==> HC of Carolina Panthers
John Fox: HC of Carolina Panthers ==> HC of St. Louis Rams
Scott Linehan: HC of St. Louis Rams ==> Offensive Coordinator of East St. Louis High School Jr. Varsity

Re: The official Hire Cowher thread.

My scenario. Georgia dies. Kroenke exercises his right of first refusal and buys her shares from her estate. Money is now no object, and he hire Jimmy Johnson to come in and take over football operations, including the role of head coach.

Yeah, I could see Cowher going to the Panthers as well. I think he wants East coast, maybe even West coast (San Diego). I just don't think he wants No coast.

As for Linehan... Like Martz, his skills would be best capitalized on as an OC. He just falls into the ranks of those not capable of making the transition to HC.

Re: The official Hire Cowher thread.

what self respecting HC caliber individual will come into this mess, i
don't know...

to put up with a sub-par o-line, avg. d-line, skill players getting long
in the tooth, a qb with avg. leader-ship skills and brittle bones
who's missed games in almost every season he's started and a rb
who's likely to demand the moon next season in contract demands,
and a front office power play with zyggy push and pulling all
personnel moves based on his super expensive hand-held talent to
value ratio evaluating calculator...

maybe ron rivera will be willing to put up with it...better than being
jobless...

Re: The official Hire Cowher thread.

What about Schottenheimer? I for one think he's a great coach, Vermeil didn't win with the eagles, but he did with the Rams. Schottenheimer could possibly break his curse in St. Louis as well...

We could do worse .. If the Rams brought Marty on board, at least the team would be fundamentally sound. Right now the Chargers are probably experiencing a hefty dose of buyer's remorse ...
