Re: OFFICIAL (and only) "Rams to L.A." Thread
Take off the blinders? Answer this question straight out: Is it good for the Rams to move again? Forget the destination, just consider the impact of moving.
Does the article have a name? I found one article titled "Online Porn: What the Web Has Woven" that details warning signs of porn addiction...

Re: OFFICIAL (and only) "Rams to L.A." Thread
Leonard Tose was the name of the owner. He was a guy who had major financial woes because he was a degenerate gambler. If I remember correctly, he eyed a move NOT because Philly didn't support their team, but because he was looking for ways to get out from under. He courted Arizona in an attempt to see if they'd throw money at him and alleviate his financial distress.
The term "carpetbagging franchises" refers to owners who up and move because of the lure of greener pastures elsewhere. This is both morally unsound as well as against league guidelines, as whole cities and their fan bases who passionately support their team and go to games are unfairly cast aside due to owner's greed. However, if a team loses money because the fan base doesn't go to games, that's a different story. An owner has the right to make a profit, and if he can prove financial hardship because there are thousands of empty seats, he has a right to examine his other options.

Re: OFFICIAL (and only) "Rams to L.A." Thread
I think my last post was pretty clear. A team must prove hardship to justify leaving their current city. This isn't an NJ Ramsfan opinion, this is an accepted fact in 2011 based on the injustices of the past in most major sports. An owner cannot justify abandoning a city for greener pastures "just because". This is why there was outrage when the Dodgers left Brooklyn- a city who feverishly loved the Dodgers. This is why there was outrage when Robert Irsay left Baltimore- a city that supported its team- for Indianapolis. This is why there was outrage when the Browns left Cleveland- a city that passionately supported its team regardless of record.
If St. Louisians don't pack that dome week in and week out, yes, ownership loses money. And ultimately it can plead hardship. Whether or not this happens remains to be seen.

Re: OFFICIAL (and only) "Rams to L.A." Thread
Articles written by the local media in Missouri about the Rams staying in Missouri are of course going to be biased, just like the LA local media interviewing JL (ESPA radio) last week and introducing him as a "soon-to-be LA Ram". LOL.
I'm not sure if the Rams will move here, but by this time next year, there will be one or two teams moving out here. The Chargers are the obvious #1 choice to move because they cannot get a stadium deal done down there. It's the "least-painful" move as well because it will still maintain the same fan-base seeing that they only need to drive 1-1/2 hours to get to a "home-game". The other team may follow soon after or it could happen a year or two after the Chargers move, IF a second team comes.Faithful Rams fan since 1968

Re: OFFICIAL (and only) "Rams to L.A." Thread
Yep and it seems like a great idea to you guys to have to the rams compete with another team in a town. Then u guys will lose the rams again. One big circle. Does this mean that st Louis should get the cards back?

Re: OFFICIAL (and only) "Rams to L.A." Thread
Ive been a Rams fan since 86, so I know what its been like in both cities.! The LA Rams in Anaheim isnt something I want too ever see again. The support for the Rams in the Lou hasnt been great, but in Anaheim it was downright awful. The fans in L.A it seems, took the Rams for granted, and it cost them.?
The passion in the fans just was not there, if I remember rightly. In a perfect world I wish the Rams could have the same amount of interest that the local Chiefs seem to garner, good or bad team. I have never quite understood why the KC Chiefs have all this support, yet the Rams fans only turn up properly when things are starting to go well.? I know St. Louis is a baseball town, but Kansas also has a baseball team. Our the people of KC that much different to St.Louis folk, in their love for football. Maybe it is because the St.Louis football team, has for the most part, been poor for decades.?
