Official: Rams go into Rebuild Mod
OK Clan.
Its time for us to forget SuperBowls and go into the correct frame of mind.
We must start thinking R E B U I L D I N G
What do we do?
- Get rid of that pratt zig (must)
- and his henchmen (must)
- Do we convince Martz to come back?

What do we do?
Get rid of that Zig (must): YES
And his henchmen (must): YES
Do we convince Martz to come back? YES
:angryram: Uncover, test and groom Ryan Fitzpatrick to see if we have a steady -- perhaps even stellar -- QB behind Bulger.

Re: Official: Rams go into Rebuild Mod
Shaw isn't going anywhere and neither is Zyggy. They know that they made money in the early 90's and will rebuild this team around whatever coach they can get for minimum wage.

Re: Official: Rams go into Rebuild Mod
Getting a coach for minimum wage just means that their not commited to winning
Sooner or later Martz' system will spread around the NFL just like the westcoast off.
Rebuilding.
Replace Schottenheimer
Replace Marmie
Replace Martin with Smoker or somebody better
Draft a Offensive guard
Draft a DT or 2
Draft Corners or pick up in F.A. And please not somebody elses throw aways i.e Hawthorn,Duncan etc.
Take out the trash and go shopping.
Of coarse it doesnt have to be in this order. My heart beats crazy and my blood runs wild

Re: Official: Rams go into Rebuild Mod
Psycho, they aren't committed to winning. They are CPA's (slapping myself here) and Lawyers (AV and GC excluded). They don't care about winning. They care about the bottom line.
Think about it, if they were so committed to winning, do you honestly think this much KAOS (for those familiar with Maxwell Smart, we might as well make a joke of it too) would be going around Rams Park?

Re: Official: Rams go into Rebuild Mod
Why do you think DV won it all and quit just two weeks later, that was strange. DV knew what it was like in the FO, and as far as Shaw I agree he has always been about the money. Traded ED yeah his is a loser too.

Re: Official: Rams go into Rebuild Mod
1)Convince Martz to stay for a start!!that would be my no 1 job!!!!
2)Get Armey more involved, somehow,
3)stop this back stabbing which is pulling this team apart, a vital game coming up and all the FO can do is piss each other off like kids in the playground... grow up boys
4)get rid of Ziggy full stop and shaw needs to start showing some leadership...
5)sign Pickett to a long term deal
6)Fire marmie and his staff
7)draft a shut down CB with the first or second pick
8)replace the backup QB with Friz
9)draft OL in the lower rounds or pick-up FA for depth
10) still unsure on whether to resign Arch or even we have enough cap to sign the fellow
11)try and restructure Bruce's deal which will have to be done........
12)escort D.lewis to the city limits!!!
so not much thenLOL another interesting off season coming up and we are only in week 8...

Re: Official: Rams go into Rebuild Mod
Resign pickett
If i am rebuilding completely, which i would advise against since i think we have too much talent, i would cut timmerman pre june 1 and bruce pre june 1 (assuming he wouldnt take a massive pay cut), "encourage" faulk to reture all to absorb the full amount of the cap hits in 2006 (which would really leave us without money since we have almost 5 million of dead turley money in 2006). That would clear us out for 2007. I dont think the situation is as bad as it looks, the real key cap wise is what happens with bruce. I dont see any reason we cant be competitive in 2006 and we are not done this year playoff wise.

Re: Official: Rams go into Rebuild Mod
First off, the Greatest Show on Turf is OVER! Martz has got to go. You have one of the best young RBs in the league with Jackson, 3 talented offensive line rookies and one of the greatest WRs of all time in Holt.
Rebuild the defense, run the ball, and allow Bulger to get the ball downfield to the WRs on playaction passes. The Rams really do need a pass catching TE to stretch the seams, but running the ball MUST come first.
Oh, and about Martz' system spreading around the NFL? That is NOT his system. The Chargers ran the same system when they had Fouts at QB and Winslow Sr. at TE. The only thing that Martz has contributed to this system is NOT protecting his QB.
Is it any wonder why the Rams had a dynasty in the making, only to blow it? Who do you think is responsible for that? Blame the front office all you want, but the simple truth is that Martz' playcalling and refusal to run the ball destroyed Kurt Warner, and if he coaches next year, he'll destroy Bulger as well.
Pull your heads out and peel the wool off of your eyes.

Is it any wonder that the most passionate anti-Martz bashers won't even acknowledge his major contributions in getting this team to potential dynasty status?

We live in a world where everyone wants a simple answer for every problem and everyone loves a scapegoat. What i find most amazing is as ferter is alluding to, no one ever gives martz any credit for anything. when we win, especially when we do so with creative and dominant offense, its because of the players. when we lose, its because the coaches dont know what they are doing.
Careful what you wish for those of you that want martz out.

Re: Official: Rams go into Rebuild Mod
Indeed, especially if the new coach brings in a new style of offense, which may or may not be successful, and the Rams may even have difficulty adjusting to an entirely new way of doing things. That doesn't even cover what would happen on the defensive side of the ball. I think anyone expecting a new coach to come in and take this team to the big dance right away need a reality check. It's hard to find a good head coach, especially if you're looking for one in a field of rejected or fired personnel men or coordinators who haven't had head coaching experience.
