Re: Official: Rams London Bound
Great news for our friends and RamBros across the pond, not good news for the Rams. One less home game and more travel, neither of which will help us.

Re: Official: Rams London Bound
Sounds like there should be a "European Bash" next season. For those in the States that are upset about losing a home game in the dome, we now know that we've got at least one game that will be played on national TV here.

Re: Official: Rams London Bound
Confirmed that it's a three-year arrangement. 2012, 2013 and 2014.
Interesting. Wonder if that has any bearing on the Rams future in STL after 2014? Or if it's all part of Stan's negotiations? 'Look at what you could lose'? Certainly, I'm not sure if losing a game from the schedule for the next three seasons plays too heavily to any sort of commitment to the city.
Plus, London is becoming a much more serious possible destination for a franchise, imo. Something I didn't think would ever happen. I still don't, tbh, but Goodell seems very determined and this is a very interesting step along that road...Last edited by sonnyjames; -01-20-2012 at 09:32 AM.

Re: Official: Rams London Bound
That's revenue from 3 nationally televized games. Good going Stan. As for a team in London, how's that going to work? The flight from New york to London (and vice versa) is 7 to 7.5 hours. It's a 10 - 11 hour flight to/from the west coast. Don't get me wrong, I love London. I lived there for a few years. It's my favorite city in the world (except for Edinburgh, on New Years). I just don't see how it'll work. Will the London team spend 8 weeks in the States? That's one heck of a road trip.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!!

For the next 3 yaers the Rams will play a home game in London. Have fun fellas! This must be a little test to see how foreign markets work, perhaps a little taste of LA.

Re: Official: Rams London Bound
I totally agree. I don't see how it would work and I don't think - on principle - that it's right. Also, those fans in the UK who follow the NFL already have their own teams and aren't likely to 'swap' just because a side gets relocated. That goes against the way that we support our teams in the UK where we don't just chop and change.
The stadium sells out (just, in the case of last season) because it's the only chance most have all year of getting to a game. But put eight games on a year and I doubt you'd have anything like full attendance. And there's an evident lack of 'home' support at these things, too, with all the NFL's teams represented in the stands. I really don't think a permanent team in London would work.
But for some reason, Goodell's made a lot of noise about it over the last few years.

Re: Official: Rams London Bound
I am beyond angry right now. I put up with this joke of a franchise never missing a game and staying until the very last second of every painful embarrassing loss. Then we get a coach with promise and you take a game away for the next 3 years?
Move this team to LA, UK, I dont care anymore. I am about to become a Steelers or Packers fan. Their ownership wouldnt do something so freaking stupid.
I HATE THIS TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Official: Rams London Bound
The negative is that it's considered an away game for us but if we look good over there we can sure gain some more fans overseas. I UK RAM FAMILY needs to show up deep!

Its against the team I love to hate as well. Brilliant news for anyone who hasn't seen the Rams in person, like myself.
