Re: Potential Rams Additions
Its just wishful thinking that Fisher could set him straight is all. And he is a proven returner td threat. I just rather have our starters and rb's do their 1st job and not have to worry about multiple roles and increased injury odds. We could use him solely for special teams. Having an elite returner would be nice to have. But i doubt we'll get him anyways.
Still want Hoyer though.

Re: Potential Rams Additions
Joselio Hanson might be one of the best slot CBs in the NFL, but the best is Cortland Finnegan. So we don't need Hanson.

Re: The Official Waiver Wire Prospects Thread
Claims are now starting to happen..
Isaako Aaitui - DL - Jets
Jets claimed DT Isaako Aaitui off waivers from the Dolphins.
Undrafted out of UNLV, Aaitui had a strong preseason, registering four tackles and a sack. He'll provide depth behind Sione Pouha and Kenrick Ellis after Gang Green cut Martin Tevaseu.

Re: The Official Waiver Wire Prospects Thread
All-Cut team: Youth is served.
By Pete Prisco | Senior NFL Columnist
September 1, 2012 12:19 am ET
It would be easy to look at some of the big names cut Friday in the NFL and put them on the All-Cut team.
I didn't do that.
I picked guys who I think will be picked up or have some value down the line -- not necessarily for one or two games.
That's why you won't see receiver Deion Branch on this team. But you will see receiver Tori Gurley, who was let go by the Packers. Gurley has potential, while Branch's best football is behind him. That's why Tim Hightower isn't on the team, but Jonathan Grimes is on the team as the running back.
There are some veterans on the team at veteran-type positions, like offensive line and kicker. But for the most part I was looking for young players who were caught in a numbers game.
My All-Cut team
QB -- Brian Hoyer, Patriots -- He lost out to Ryan Mallet, but he can be a capable backup for another team.
RB -- Jonathan Grimes, Texans -- The Texans are deep at running back, but this kid flashed some in the preseason.
FB -- Jacob Hester, Chargers -- He has been a contributor as a fullback and running back. He can also help on special teams.
WR -- Tori Gurley, Packers -- He was caught in a numbers game at a deep position on a good team. The Dolphins, where former Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin is coach, makes sense.
WR -- Clyde Gates, Dolphins -- Why is here? Speed. He hasn't played to it, but it's awful enticing.
TE -- Colin Cochart, Bengals -- He lost out to veteran Donald Lee for the third tight end spot. He is a capable blocker for a team looking for that kind of tight end.
T-- Trai Essex, Steelers -- He has 28 starts and has played both guard and tackle. There is value there.
G -- Mike Person, ***** -- The ***** are solid at guard, but he could find his way onto an active roster. He's only 24.
C -- Dan Koppen, Patriots -- He isn't a kid, but centers can be older. He isn't a powerful center, but he's smart. Some team will pick him up. Could be the Bengals or Cowboys.
G -- Kyle Devan, Titans -- He has 25 starts the past three years for the Colts and the Eagles.
T -- Mario Henderson, Chargers -- He has been a starter for Oakland, but the Chargers didn't think he was worth keeping.
K -- Nick Novak, Chargers -- He lost out to Nate Kaeding in camp, but he proved last season that he was capable of being on a roster.
Defense
E -- Everette Brown, Lions -- This former first-round pick of the Panthers showed some burst in the preseason. He might get another look.
T -- Dwan Edwards, Bills -- He is a decent player who has started at times. Just caught in a numbers deal in the Bills' new 4-3.
T -- Antonio Dixon, Eagles -- He has been a starter the past two years at times and should be a player who is wanted by several teams.
E -- Craig Marshall, Giants -- He had 1 1/2 sacks against the Patriots in the final preseason game. He has some pass-rush ability.
OLB -- Jamaal Westerman, Dolphins -- He didn't really fit in their 4-3 scheme, but should get picked up by a 3-4 team.
ILB/MLB -- Rodrick Muckleroy, Bengals -- He lost out to Vontaze Burfict, but he can help a team as a backup and special-teams player.
OLB -- Spencer Adkins, Atlanta -- This fourth-year linebacker started a game last season for the Falcons.
CB -- Donald Washington, Chiefs -- He is 26 and has five starts the past two seasons.
CB -- Dominique Franks, Falcons -- He's been a solid backup and can return punts. This third-year player is worth a look for a corner-needy team.
S -- Omar Brown, Ravens -- He impressed during the preseason and should get a look from another team.
S -- Troy Nolan, Texans -- He is only 25 and he has started six games in two seasons. He will have a lot of interest.
Guys I wouldn't mind the Rams taking a close look at are in Bold .. Who knows - maybe we find a serviceable guy or two ..

The Rams have signed RB Terrance Ganaway to the practice squad from the Jets.

Re: The Official Waiver Wire Prospects Thread
The New York Jets got a head start on Friday by excecuting 19 of their needed 22 cuts early in the morning.
But they still have a few more to go.
According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, waiving running back Terrance Ganaway is one of the Jets’ final required moves. Mehta reports that the Jets want Ganaway back on their practice squad. So it sounds like they made this roster move begrudgingly.
Their loss our gain... that's for not paying the 1.5 Mil in the Smith trade REX!

The Rams are putting together their eight-man practice squad, signing wide receiver Nick Johson and center/guard Tim Barnes on Saturday. Both players were with the team throughout training camp and the preseason, and cleared waivers after being released Friday.
Barnes played at the University of Missouri.
Meanwhile, running back Terrance Ganaway tweeted that he is heading to St. Louis, apparently to join the Rams' practice squad after being released by the New York Jets.
There were also unconfirmed reports that tight end Cory Harkey is being added to the Rams' practice squad after being released by the team Friday.

Kellen Heard - DL - Rams
Rams claimed DT Kellen Heard off waivers from the Bills.
A third-year pro who notched 21 tackles and two sacks in 15 games last season, Heard will provide depth while first-round pick DT Michael Brockers (high-ankle sprain) is on the shelf.

Sammy Brown - LB - Dolphins
Dolphins claimed LB Sammy Brown off waivers from the Rams.
An undrafted free agent out of Houston, Brown made just two tackles during the preseason, but the Dolphins obviously saw something they liked. He was ticketed for the practice squad in St. Louis.

Re: The Official Waiver Wire Prospects Thread
And this is why OC should not be pushing for players they like... Keep Control of it Les!
Greg Salas - WR - Patriots
Patriots acquired WR Greg Salas from the Rams in exchange for a conditional 2015 pick.
Salas will be reuniting with OC Josh McDaniels, who pushed to make Salas the No. 112 pick of last year's draft when he was the Rams' offensive coordinator. Capable of manning both the outside and slot, Salas was coming on in the slot before breaking his leg in Week 9 last season, making 22 catches for 216 yards in the four games prior. He'll open the year as the Patriots' No. 5 receiver.

I think we need to take a look at these guys. Have Hoyer fight Davis for the #2 spot. I'm sure he will be capable when Bradford goes down throughout the season.
