Ogletree and McDonald seem very similar

It's interesting that our two defensive rookies have striking similarities if you watch them and read about them. Both have tall, lean, and athletic bodies, both are known for big hits but lack natural "football instincts" - more read and react vs. anticipating and getting into position ahead of time. Ogletree started off as a safety so that's another obvious comparison.

But once they lock onto a player, they're like heat-seeking missiles. They are both violent tacklers once they get to the ball-carrier, and our defensive coaches seem to value that intimidation factor.

This makes me think that the Rams are intent on continuing to be an attacking, blitz-heavy defense under Tim Walton, allowing younger players like Ogletree and McDonald to play downhill with simple assignments while Laurinaitis and other vets do all the thinking and setting players up.

Most of all, it shows that the Rams are only concerned with stopping the ***** and Seahawks, who both feature run-heavy offenses with mobile quarterbacks. The rest of the NFL seems to be focused on the general trend of spread offenses and defending them, but Fisher and the Rams want to win the division first.

SRAM--(short, range, attack, missile), it was a weapon that bombers launched to clear the way on rout to the target-haha! Personally all I ever wanted out of a SS/FS was the ability to cover against the pass, and/or failing that the ability to seperate the ball or head from the reciever.

However there are two certain QBs in San Fransico and Seattle I can think of where a SRAM would be most useful

As long as McDonald can shut down the long ball, I'll be happy. That's where we've been killed the last few years.
    I believe!

You haven't even mentioned the best part of our defense, our front four. That is where the pressure begins and the others simply add to the mayhem. Stopping the charmed existence of Wilson and Kaepernick will be my greatest joy. I agree this will be a great defense to watch next season.

    Go Rams!

Agree on the front four point. Mark my words, Brockers is going to be a force of nature this year.
