Oh my Gawd Nightline is doing a piece on Green Gay

It just started so we will see what propaganda they shovel at us.

Re: Oh my Gawd Nightline is doing a piece on Green Gay

I'm not sure why there's so much hatred of Brett Favre. I'd love it if the Rams had him and his legacy to look back on. He's not perfect but I still see him do stuff that I know most other qb's can't do. He's got charisma, leadership, 3 MVP's, who knows how many pro bowls, the streak, a Lombardi and still a better arm than any qb the Rams have ever had. He's not a loud-mouth and generally a pretty good spokesman for the league. Rarely does he beat the Rams(doesn't play against us much) so I don't understand the animosity I've seen toward him.

If we were talking about Montana or Young I wouldn't have any questions but what's the hate-fest with Favre?

No problem with Green Bay. I don't hate the playas but I hate the game.

LOL

I'm not sure anyone actually hates Favre the player. He seems like a stand-up guy who really enjoys playing. What I dislike is the media-fest that hangs from Favre's nuts.

Rumor has it these will be available through ESPN's website before Christmas:

Re: Oh my Gawd Nightline is doing a piece on Green Gay

Well, we all know that the media will always be spotlighting someone so why not a guy who deserves the attention? His streak is pretty impressive and I wonder if there were cries for everyone to shut up about Cal Ripken Jr. when he was the media darling of the week?

They posted a stat about Favre now having 20+ td's for 12 straight years. C'mon, that's impressive. He doesn't talk in the third person, he isn't smack talking other players or teams, he produces on the field, his team is in first place, I mean C'MON! I would much rather hear all this talk about Favre than McNabb(never won anything), Culpepper(jump ball passer, nothing without Moss) or Vick(great rb).

I think people should take a moment and enjoy the media actually focusing on someone who deserves the attention.

Re: Oh my Gawd Nightline is doing a piece on Green Gay

My only problem with the Favre coverage is that it, at times, interfered with the play-by-play. They can do pregame shows and Sportscenter pieces on Brett to their heart's content. But when its 3rd and 7 with the game still in reach, I'd rather hear about what's happening on the field than being told for the 1,000,000,000th time how Favre has played through adversity over the past 2 years.

Re: Oh my Gawd Nightline is doing a piece on Green Gay

I don't know, I see a difference between spotlighting and obsessing to the point of gross overemphasis. Yes, Favre's good. There's no need for ESPN and ABC to constantly shove it down our throat and make him out to be the Second Coming.

Re: Oh my Gawd Nightline is doing a piece on Green Gay

I understand. I do. But, I don't think Rams fans wanted to hear anything at all last night. When you're getting your ass served to you on a paper plate, there's not much anyone can say that won't get on your nerves.

The game was a joke so I think they had to try and talk about something that wasn't as obvious as the outcome. It was a feel good game for the Packers so they were just playing to the Green Bay audience. It was Brett's game and the crappy team from St. Louis was deservedly just a side note last night.
