OK, lets begin talking about the future of the Rams

Ok, citizens of Rams Nation let's thoroughly talk about what we have, and where we go from here.

    1) the 2008 Rams squad: Who stays, who is wanted back(and resigned) and who goes?????????????

    2) NFL wide who is available in the free agency market?????????????

    3) We get the 2nd pick of the first round--do we trade up & get more picks??? If not, who do we pick in round 1??? Round 2????? Round 3????? (and so on...)

I am interested in your opinions

    1.
I think the highest priority must be to resign Atogwe.

Then we must find out about the future of our O-line. Do the coaches think that Incognito can get his act together? Or else he should be replaced with somebody who is better to control his temper on the field. Barron might need to be moved to RG or replaced.

    Fire Bennett!

I still hope that we can somehowe get Holt to play for us. Seeing Curtis playing for the Beagle, and Bruce for the whiners is pain enough. I really hope that Holt can end his carreer with us.

Chavous needs to be replaced. He is not good enough any more. This will hurt because I think he is a very popular player in the team who has a lot of knowledge that new guys can use. Maybe we could use him as coach or something?

We need to find out about our CB's is Hill ever going to get better? Or else throw him out.

    2.
We might need a hard running backup RB for Jackson as he is made of glass and I think we will change to at run, run run Offense. Maybe Ricky Willams?

Haynesworth would be a nice pick up if he hits the FA marked. But I would think that rather unrealistic.

Could Spags get Peppers to sign with us? He wants a 3-4 defence, but playing for an aggressiv coach who in New York made his DE's into sack maschines could be interessting for Peppers?

There are alot of big name linebackers hitting the FA marked this year. Ray Lewis, Terrell Suggs, Karlos Dansby, Mike Peterson, Bart Scott, Jonathan Vilma, Michael Boley, James Farrior. I really think we should try to upgrade our LB corps from that pool of exellent players.

I do not know enough of the O-line men to hit the marked but that is offcourse one of our biggest needs. It would be nice to get a good CB also.

Overall I would like to see at least one big name pickup in the FA. Hopefully a D player that can help give our D get to the next level.

    3.
As it is hard to follow the colleges players from Denmark I do not know much about who to pick. But primary focus should be to get our O-line to play well. I also think that we need a new SS which we might be able to find in the draft. I also think that a good FB could improve our running game and maybe help SJ stay healthy?

I disagree- I think resigning Bartell is the highest priority. He's a more solid player than Atogwe and he plays a position of greater importance. I think the Rams will try to keep both- which might mean that they resign one and tag the other. I really think Bartell deserves more money.

Try to get Dawkins from Philly. I just want that dirty cheap shot artist out of the East.

    Players that could leave:

It would be easier to put down who I would want to stay:

    Bulger
    Jackson
    Avery
    McMichael
    Greco
    Long
    Ryan
    Witherspoon
    Bartell
    Atogwe
    the kickers

    Everyone else I wouldn't shed a tear.

I agree. Spagnuolo has a history as a defensive backfield specialist and I think he'll come to realize what quality he has in both Bartell and Atogwe.

Wow wouldnt this make all our days!!

1 Imo he really wants to stay with a 3-4 as he suggested

2 I also think he will want to go somewhere that is on the cusp of a superbowl.

3 you all know we never get these guys in FA we are a mid level team with tight salary cap, not the Yankees

I think this is really going to be our biggest move in FA and for the record Bart Scott is on the top of my list.

Of course we need to resign our key players, however I think plugging our MLB will set our defense free

At least the Ravens will not be able to franchise tag all their 3 linebackers so some of them should hit the marked

We need an IMPACT linebacker, someone with an attitude, who can put the hurt on opposing players with these little "crossing patterns", someone like Ray Lewis.

Ray Lewis is great, and a real team leader, BUT he is starting to get up there in age!!! I'ld say he's good for maybe another 3 years or 4 at most!!

Sign Bart Scott......or Jordon Gross.....I do expect the Rams to be active in FA. They haven't in the past few seasons (of any real significance except for Witherspoon) but if they are going to turn this thing around, they better, Their drafts haven't been stellar lately, and (moment of silence) no London Fletcher is on the roster.

We make a big signing every year I believe Bennett and Bell are making 30 mil plus or around that. The cap space we have will be dependent on our vets staying and those who restructure. I would love a guy like Bart Scott, Channing Crowder, or Karlos Dansby. I just don't think we will be able to get one of those guys after signing OJ and Bartell.
