Olson will call plays

Rams | Olson will call plays
Sun, 10 Jun 2007 08:55:55 -0700

Bill Coats, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports St. Louis Rams offensive coordinator Greg Olson will call plays for the second season. Olson took over play-calling duties for the final six games in 2006. Olson said, "I've got a good feel now for what Scott wants to see and wants from me," Olson said. "There's just an overall comfort feeling."

Re: Olson will call plays

That's perfectly fine with me. It was one of the best moves Coach Linehan made last year, to turn the Rams offensive play calling to G.O.

Hopefully this season will turn out to be even more productive. :r

Re: Olson will call plays

Agreed RealRam. In my opinion, Linehan needs to be able to be on the sideline and manage his team, just like any other head coach should. Linehan knows how to talk to his players, and although he has a great offensive mind, he can be put to better use on Sundays by scanning the field, the calls the refs make, etc. Olsen (in my opinion) did one hell of a job calling the plays, he knows how to work the system just as good as Linehan can. Good move Linehan, good move.

I think Greg Olson is going to be like a kid in a candy store this year.

Re: Olson will call plays

Interesting move, does anyone quite remember when Olson took over playcalling duties last season?

Can anyone tell how Olson's playcalling tendancies differ from Linehan's?

He stays loyal to what he says. He said he wants to stick with the run..and sure enough, he kept giving and giving the ball to Steven Jackson. And I think we all know what happens when we do that...

TDs!
