one bright spot for the Rams...

i cant remember ever seeing a bad snap on special teams from Chris Massey
the guy is just solid and the model of consistency

he is very underrated, and is a reason why Donnie Jones and Josh Brown can be so good with their kicks

in a year when the NFL has seen a fair few bad snaps on special teams leading to safeties, missed field goals and botched punts, we can take solace in the fact that not every single Ram is playing like pure garbage

Let's face it, Long Snapper is hardly the most glamourous position in football, but Massey is just about the best there is.

In Massey, Jones and Brown we've got the best special teams/kicking trio in the league. All this talk about who stays and who goes at the end of the year..... these three are definitely "keepers".

Great post. I have always loved massey.

However, i swear that if you go back and look at the tape of the carolina playoff game (which i have never had the heart to do), the snap on the missed 54 yard field goal by wilkins in OT is a little bit off, which i am convinced is why Money came up short, even though the kick was dead straight on. I dont think it was the hold, i think the snap was a bit low.

I would love someone to review it and confirm my memory.

Dont forget the trainer. Todd Hewitt is highly respected and comes from a long line of Ram trainers named Hewitt. Its a solid building block for the future.

Heck, they've had plenty of in game oppurtunities to get it down, so It only makes sense.

Massey has only botched one snap in his combined college and pro career. That was the game against the Bears in St. Louis the season before last. He was just sick about it but felt much better when he recovered a fumble against the Raiders the following week.

Chris and his wife, Sarah, recently had another daughter, Maybre.
