Re: Move the Rams back to L.A.
The D will be ahead of the O as is usually the case in the first couple of games. I don't see the Eagles putting up 31. I think it will be an old fashioned grind it out game.
Rams win 23-20!

[quote=Bald_81;240806]That was two years ago. That was when people actually thought Jimmy Kennedy had turned a corner (LOL).
I do believe that is a contradiction.PHP Code:And I would rather have people express how they really feel than be drowned in optimism and fantasy predictions that have us winning 10 games. Just look at everyone comparing this upcoming season to 99,

Re: One Fan's Prediction: Rams 13 - Eagles 31
Probably more than any year in recent history, I don't think I have a clue as to how this Rams team will stack up.
It's 50/50 as far as I'm concerned.
They could surprise if the defense holds up, and Al Saunders gets the offense rolling. Especially if one of those rookie receivers get's on a roll and Bulger has multiple weapons. Also the Special teams could be top 10.
However, they also could be poor against the run and Bulger could struggle in his first year under the new system, even though it's similar to the old Martz system. Plus, we are still thin at many positions and that could bite us again.
I believe Vegas has the over/under at 6 games, and I would say that's probably about right. Especially with the tough schedule, even if we improve to an 8-8 or 9-7 caliber team, we could end up with 6 or 7 wins.
Of course the hope is that they come out strong and surprise, and be no worse than 4-4 on the front side and have a downhill run from there.
We shall soon find out...
Go Rams!

Re: One Fan's Prediction: Rams 13 - Eagles 31
Seriously, I wonder if some of the people on this board are even Ram's fans.
Why even sign on to post this crap? Props to BRM for calling this exactly what it is - CRAP!
Fact is, even if we win, even if we have a great season, no matter what, I will never, and I mean NEVER, have any respect for you. I just don't get this nonsense. Any fan that cannot get excited about the upcoming season is just sad. You never know what is going to happen.
Yet another fact, since you think this team just overall sucks, do you think the 3-13 record last season is indictive of our talent? Beause iI think the sole consensus is, that was a result of injuries ...
Our offense finally looked like it was turning the corner in the 3rd preseason game, and it's like you didn't even see it ...
What's your basis for the Eagles thrashing us 31-13? Especially considering they have two WR's out ...
Our horrible secondary huh? Do you realize that up until week 15 last week, our horrible secondary was allowing QB's to post a pedestrian 76.8 QB rating against them?
Amazing how one big game by Roethlisburger can blow up the stats?
Our line is out of shape? How do you figure this one genius? They DOMINATED against the Raven's, plain and simple.
People like you that come in here with the sole intention to deflate the entire community are really pathetic. Flame me, but I am really sick of this crap ...
A brand new season is about to start, and regardless of what is happening, optimism is abound, and yet you try to ruin it, with absolutely no rational behind what you are saying ...
We've got solid talent on this team. Other than depth issues, I don't see a glaring weakness across the team. But I assume you beg to differ right?
There is definitely a job waiting for you in the media. I am sure you could pour somebodies coffee ...Last edited by RamsInfiniti; -08-31-2008 at 01:55 AM.

Re: One Fan's Prediction: Rams 13 - Eagles 31
This game will be better than you think.
The game will be containing the running backs. Both Jackson and Westbrook are in the top five backs in the NFL. It's going to be fun watching the running backs face the defenses.
The game we will most likely win in will be the receiving game. We have a better WR corps. We can only hope that Avery's injury is truly nothing serious. We all saw when we have Burton, Avery and Holt that Bulger plays better. McMichael will be thrown into the mix more often.
The only thing I'm really worried about is our injuries. We have Atogwe, Pace, Witherspoon, Brown and Bennett sitting. I'm sure there are more that is important to this line up. However, everyone but Bennett on that list is a very important part of the team. If those guys can come back healthy, I think we may be the team that will prevail with the win.

Re: One Fan's Prediction: Rams 13 - Eagles 31
So, we can't be Rams fans when we have doubt in our teams abilities to go out and get wins on a consistent basis? I mean, I'm not saying we won't win against Philly because it is a legitimate possibility we will shock everyone and win but I don't see that happening right now with our lack of depth on the defensive side. I'm speaking my opinion, not saying something I think you guys will all want to hear. I mean really, who was the user prior to last season that had their signature as a picture with "2007 NFC Champions - St. Louis Rams" in it? C'mon...I guess if it weren't for injuries we would have been Superbowl bound then? You guys obviously see the team in a way better state than I do.

pish posh. I was poking the bear. Nothing personal. If you're going to dish it to the team, you'll get it back from those of use who have optimism in spades, and wear it to the elbows.

Re: One Fan's Prediction: Rams 13 - Eagles 31
It's the first "MEANINGFUL" game of the season. Being one of the "more" pessimistic Rams fans on this site, i won't preach the negative about this game until the game takes place. It's "a new hope" until proven otherwise. You're definitely free to express your opinion BALD_81!
It would be really cool, if just for this first week "WE AS RAMS FANS COULD COME TOGETHER AS ONE AND BACK THIS TEAM WITH NO IF'S, ANDS OR BUTS"!!! ......I mean, let's let it ride and see what we really have with this team. After that. Call it as you see it.
RAM ON!

Re: One Fan's Prediction: Rams 13 - Eagles 31
I think if we can get pressure on Mcnabb by the DE's then we can easily win, last year the Eagles did horrible against teams with good D-lines.

Re: One Fan's Prediction: Rams 13 - Eagles 31
The EAGLES were 8-8 last year. What has made them this dominating force?
What have they done during the off-season that's going to make them so much better than the 8-8 team from last season? To be honest I don't know.
We were 8-8 two seasons ago. Last season was a disaster and we all know why. We have made several moves to improve our team.
The only glaring advantage Philly has in this game is that they will be playing at home.
I actually feel like this is going to be a very close game that we can win.

Re: One Fan's Prediction: Rams 13 - Eagles 31
Call me crazy or stupidly optimistic but before every game i fully believe the rams will win. Otherwise what would be the point in watching if you knew you were going to see a rams loss. Hell i can't wait to see the Rams beat the Pats this season
Rams - 24
Eagles - 17

Re: Rams 13 - Eagles 31
Ha Ha- oh yes, the "this is Jimmy Kennedy's breakout season!!!" yearly tradition- how I miss it tho. This year was going to be Wroten's "breakout season"- and I agree, but only if he gets thrown in jail and has to break out. Supposedly this will be Tye Hill's "breakout season" too...we'll see.
I would have to agree. I never got this whole, "If you have anything negative to say about the Rams, then you're not a real fan" thing. People can be realistic and still be fans- you don't have to be swimming in blind optimism to garner that title.Last edited by moloch41; -08-31-2008 at 09:31 AM.

Re: One Fan's Prediction: Rams 13 - Eagles 31
Geez, what a crapload of crap to read this early on a Sunday.
31-13? Are you serious?
I think you may end up being shocked. I'm not saying we will walk away with a win, but unless you are forgetting last season completely, most of our early games last year were a lot closer than that. We're going to Philly with a healthy o-line, healthy offensive weapons, and a healthy Little who can only say one thing: "Paper or plastic, Mr. QB?"
McNabb won't have any more time to pass than Bulger will, so the chances of him leading the Beagles to 31 is a little, shall we say, illusioned? And it seems you are forgetting something: Marc won't have to pass all day. With Steven Jackson in there, we can pound the ball all day long.
Win or lose, the Iggles are going to have a fight on their hands, and unless we give up in the fourth quarter, there is NO WAY we'll go down by 18. If I had the money to bet, I'd say it will be along the lines of 24-21, flip a coin to see who wins.Super Bowl Champions 2013!
