The One Thing That Seattle Has That The Rams Don't
I wouldn't trade the Rams' roster for the Seahawks' roster.
I wouln't trade the Rams' coaching staff for the Seahawks' staff.
I wouldn't trade the Rams' owner and front office for the Seahawks'.
But, as was evident last week and, even more so, this week... I would trade the Rams' home field atmosphere for the Seahawks' "12th Man."
I don't know if the Rams would have defeated the Saints this week had they played in St. Louis. The Rams lack the one thing Seattle had yesterday... a rabid, noisy fan base that makes their home field a tough place for any opposing team to win.
Have the Rams ever had that type of crowd?
Difficult to say.
In the GSOT days, the home crowds were loud and the Rams had a great record in the dome, but were those crowd-driven wins, or win-driven crowds? I'd argue it was the latter.
St. Louis is a great baseball town, but has never had the reputation for a great football fan base.
Of course, Seattle wasn't exactly the greatest football town either in the days of the King Dome. Rather, it took the construction of a new stadium AND a winning team to turn things around.
I don't expect that there will be a new stadium in St. Louis any time soon, so hopefully the wins will come, and the fans will follow.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Move the Rams to Oklahoma?

They'll sure develop a rabid fanbase in an instant second and Sam Bradford will be even happier.
And no, I'm not beating a dead horse.

Were you at the last home game sir?
I was and I can say St Louis can still bring the noise.

Always do? I wouldnt say that at all, they did because it was a playoff game. Had the Rams beat seattle I guarantee it would have been just as loud in the EJD
But I can see this is already turning into a bash St Louis thread so I am going to exit stage left because I am not going into this again with you people.

Re: The One Thing That Seattle Has That The Rams Don't
I have season tickets, and the dome was great this year. Probably the best it's been since 2003-2004ish. I wish it was loud all the time too, but the reality is that we won 6 games in the past 3 years and people are slow to jump back on the bandwagon. I'll still be there every game giving my all, but I guess my voice doesn't project from the 5th row from the top. Maybe I'll try a vuvuzela next year.

The other thing the Seahawks have that we don't is a ridiculous neon green stripe on their jersey's, and a lame head coach. So, I guess that's 2 things. Wait, and a bald qb who hurt his butt running without being touched. I'll stop at 3.

Wins is just a excuse. Plain and simple. The Piece of crap Raiders have a loyal fan base regardless what the record is... Same with the Cowgirls. With a Loud hostile enviroment. I live in NM but made it to the Denver and Cardinal games But I wish I did live near STL or I would be there every Sunday.
LoL!!
I don't see how he is hurt like that without someone hitting him...

Another thing Seattle has is a location all the way in the northwest in this pretty sizeable country we live in. Not many visting teams have fans that want to travel that distance.
Stl is in a much more desirable location for visiting fans.
We could be louder than and after a promising season I'm sure we will.
let's face it while I'm not a fairweather whatsoever many sports fans are.

While yes, Seattle is geographically located favorably so that opposing fans won't travel there, if the stadium is sold out, it doesn't matter if fans would travel there, as there would be no seats.
Seattle has a waiting list of 10,000 people for season tickets. And as I'd assume that the team would prefer to sell out every seat before the season, I'll also assume that means that they fill their stadium every week... with THEIR fans.
St. Louis has no waiting list, which is completely understandable, we've sucked the last 3 years. Furthermore, St. Louisians don't even buy the tickets individually to fill the Dome. And so, yeah, St. Louis is the "gateway to the west", and as such, visiting team fans find it easy to grab good seats and fill the Dome with their cheers.
I'm not saying that the St. Louis fans are bad, they just aren't football people. If the Cardinals went through a slump, I'm sure the Busch would still be full.. or as full as it gets now, anyway. I really don't know.
St. Louis just isn't a town that lives and breathes football. Seattle does. They no longer have a basketball team. They have a pretty bad baseball team. The hags have never been a powerhouse either, but they've stayed, and have attracted a huge fan base. And that fan base prides itself on par with the Raiders, Chiefs, Steelers, Packers, and all the other top fan bases. St. Louis just isn't that. They need a winning football team to get behind. For good, or bad, that's just how they are.
Thankfully enough, the Rams, and thus the fans, have reason to smile at the future. And I'm sure that season ticket sales will be much better this year. We'll see just how full we can pack the Dome next year.I believe!
