Laurinaitis was the only defensive player in the NFL to play every snap of the season.
To be the only one in the NFL on defense to do that is a pretty good accomplishment.
Good job JL!

His stamina, toughness, and football intelligence goes unquestioned.
gosh dang that guy
freakin beast
Working class hero!
Wow that's very telling and an underrated stat
No doubt! :<>
No, I was not aware of this, thanks SJacks. Interesting to say the least. Back in the 40-60s these players were called 'Iron Men'; some did not play every down of every game but they often worked both sides of the scrimmage line.
:ram: KUDOS LAURINAITIS!
Bah humbug, even though thats good and solid, i cant take nothing away from the accomplishment. BUT I still dont think he's a stud at MLB. He is just not what i envision as a MlB, he's on his back after alot of tackle. But still good for him atleast he isnt injury prone
Agreed. He doesn't need to be Ray Lewis in his prime to be a great MLB. The game is actually kind of short on true MLBs considering all the teams using 3-4. Laurinitis is one of the few that is actually a starting caliber guy.
Also, who cares how he lands after making a tackle? As long as he's making them. I'd rather a MLB who wraps guys up by their legs, the proper way to tackle, and ends up on his back because of it, over a guy who tries to obliterate the other side on every play.
It's true Laurinaitis is not a hard-hitting thumper. I think he is a good player, but he definitely has a lot to improve on also.
I spent the last super bowl with this guy. He is exactly what I want on my Rams team! Great guy, very cool to hang out with.
Its not about proper tackling. I agree though JL for the most part always wraps up which is good. BUT what it is about is him not initiating the contact... Being the HITTER not the HITTee. And it MATTERS on 2nd and 4 when a rb runs through the hole, JL hits him a yard before the 1st down maker and gets dragged/fell over for another yard and a half for a 1st down. Football is a game of inches, every yard JL gives up by being on his back is crucial. Some of you must have NEVER played ball before, or maybe were never that good at it. I cant see how anyone over looks this. The guy is always dragging a defender down after he absorbed an hit. A MLB should be falling on top of a guy after a tackle, not the other way around. Watch every tackle JL has made and you will see what i see. The eye in the sky never lies!! But to his credit he does always make tackles.
And before anyone goes to pull up a JL highlght reel, im not sayiing this happens after every tackle. It happens often over a course of a game tho. Watch a full game and watch JL after every tackle and form your own opinion. And this is my opinion... Well its a fact just watch, lol,
