Opening Day O Line: Pace, Bell, Barron and ???

I think we can be pretty certain that, if healthy, Pace (LT), Bell (LG) and Barron (RT) will be starters on opening day. Who will be the other 2?

Jeff Gordon: Greco will need some work. If that scenario happened right away, Gorin might have to play right tackle while the kid keeps learning.
This is where I got Gorin from but after all, Gordon is a writer........

Gordos scenario with gorin was in answer to a question about what would happen if pace was injured again. Not applicable if you assume that pace and barron are the tackles.

Cogs makes sence at center, since he has played the position in the NFL.

I think it will turn out to be Setterstrom at center and Cogs at Guard.

Well, I stand corrected. Made it till Tuesday afternoon of this week before a correction was required.

I think we need to put our best 5 on the field and right now it would have to be setterstrom at center and cogs at guard. I think cogs best position where he can utilize all his traits and aggression is RG. I think Settestrom is the best we will get out of center also. This is subject to change if Grecco, Schuening, maybe even Fry emerges Cogs shifts to center and one the young guys goes to RG.

I agree with thebeast. Setterstrom is likely a better center than Cog, while Cog can play guard pretty decently. If Cog gets injured, Grecco should step in, and maybe even Schuening. If Setterstrom gets injured, Cog goes to center. If Pace gets injured, maybe Gorin at left tackle and give Grecco a chance there.

I'd love to see Cog in at center, because he's my boy and from what I've seen he's handled the position well. I also voted Greco at gaurd, because they say he's got the skills so why not let him cut his teeth on the line from the start?

It might be worth noting that the only season that Cog has NOT been injured as a Ram is when he played at center for McCollum in "06. Just sayin'

    WHAT SAY YE ?

Gorin LT I would really prefer Barron who might be the second best LT on our roster right now

Re: Opening Day O Line: Pace, Bell, Barron and ???

Bear with me here on my logic. Camp will begin with Romberg at C Cogs at RG. I think at first Setterstrom will be the back up C/G spot with Goldberg G and they will want to see what Sheuning sp can do at G and Greco at Tackle and of course, Gorin at T.

They will then substitute Sett at C position and I bet they give Cogs some reps. Raiola will be #3 C. If Loney/Saunders/Lineham does not like what they see at C and depending on Goldberg or if Greco Performs well, Then they will immediately, well before OTAs end, send Cogs over to the C spot and leave him there. I like Cogs at C too and although his long snaps were not the greatest, they can work him on that.

A lot of people said he gave away the snap count by lowering his head, then looking left then looking right then snapping the ball. Well folks, most of the centers in the NFL do that. IMO Cogs did a bang up job on some of the best NTs in the NFL. Forget the kids name from San Diego but I was at that game and even though we lost, Cogs buried that kid the whole game. Williams, thats the kids name from SD, Cogs buried him all day long. Depending on Paces progress and IF its good, my vote for the starting Oline in the first game of the season is

    LT Pace
    LG Bell
    C Cogs
RG Not exactly sure yet but I would not count out Greco here
    RT Baron

If Pace is not up to par ?

    LT Baron
    LG Bell
    C Cogs
RG ?? STILL UNSURE but at least we have choices this year
    RT Gorin

I picked Cog and Greco, but that's because I want to see our rookies play right away. But I still have to have some stability at the Center position.
