    Our best cover corner?

If today is indicative and not an anomoly......Ron Bartell is far and away our best cover man. He was like glue all day long. I hope this means the kid has arrived and didn't just get lucky all day. He could go a long way to fixing our secondary issues.

I am glad they finally put him in.

Now if we could only get Groce to stop getting called for defensive holding.....

Bartell looked pretty good today, though that one defensive holding call could have really hurt us. Fisher was having a good day before he got hurt. Groce had a pretty bad day, it seemed. Ivy was decent, I thought. The play on the field was fairly good, but the undisciplined penalties were killing us.

It was very refreshing to see for a change.

How about Furrey, I really like his play. :clanram:

Today he was, we sent guys all day and left him out there alone he did a great job. other rookies in the game Alex had to holding calls but still looked great, Terrell well we have two rookies on the O-line and we are looking better and better. Keep the kids playing we need them all to grow up fast and they are. My game ball goes to the rookies.

Furrey looked really good. Bartell played very well against Hester. Groce was dissapointing. It seemed like on every play that he was grabbing for something.

The defense had it's best game of the year

    Re: Our best cover corner?

Groce is playing through an assortment of injuries, including the knee which i am sure still isnt right. I cut him HUGE slack for playing through the pain when we are so shorthanded out there. The first holding call on third down was a crappy ticky tacky call. He didnt have a great day, but he gutted it out.

Got to give Groce credit for playing hurt, and finishing second on the team with 7 tackles. :football: :angryram:

I'm with you on this one. He already moves ahead of Fisher and Groce on my chart. And Ivy deserves more looks.

I really like Ivy! He in my book should be our nickle, with Bartell taking Fishers job until he can figure out what is wrong.

Good assessment I thought Bartell was the best today and Fisher before he was hurt looked better then he had in previous weeks. Groce I was disappointed in based off today’s performances I would not mind seeing Fisher and Bartell start next game.

Okay then, let's start Bartell. I'm all for that. :angryram:

PS: :football: Nick, great shot of Jackson in action!

A CB getting 7 tackles normaly means his guy caught a lot of passes thats not normally a good sign. When Deion Sanders was in his prime he almost never made a tackle because he covered his guy so well.

Bartell played very well against Hester.
    Who the heck is Hester?

    The CB/PR from Miami?
