Our Offensive Coordinator summed up in 2 sentences.....

    Tweet by Mark Sessler NFL.com...

Not a good sign that every quarterback under Brian Schottenheimer is Mark Sanchez, or becomes him.

...and from Chris Wesseling at NFL.com...

The Rams added in-space playmakers Jared Cook and Tavon Austin to unimaginative offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer's arsenal, which is a bit like shoving a Rubik's Cube under a toddler's nose.

Sums it up pretty well I think.

    Ouch. Truth hurts.

Well I guess the silver lining here is that we are another game closer to getting higher in the draft order. Teddy Bridgewater or Mr. Football, just get me a play-maker behind center...

the scary thing about these high draft picks is we dont make good decisions with them.

Once again, play-calling is the wrong aspect of coaching to be focused on,imo. Player development certainly is & tailoring the roles of these guys within the scheme. Why Mr Semi-irrelevant, D-Rich, with a turf toe is still a better option, in this regime's opinion, than Pead is disturbing. Ditto for Cunningham over Stacy, pettis over Quick If they're no good on STs, whose fault is that ? etcetera...etcetera

the fact of the matter with Schotty's jet history is that the talent never developed to fulfill the roles for which they were drafted. Jets went from +23 points per game in BS' final season as OC to 17+ the next year. They're at about 18+ this year. In other words, Schotty's playcalling wasn't the issue per se.

The same issue is glaring on defense, imo. Does Finnegan really suck that badly- not sayin' he hasn't made his own mistakes- or is he often being poorly supported by the green safeties, let down by the pass rush, & forced into being mismatched with WRs that Tru-Jo apparently can't handle yet if he ever will be able to ? CF's a feisty slot corner, not a full-time deep cover guy. Imo, only Jenkins and Quinn have shown signs that they've made strides since their rookie year.
