Our young buck might have cost us the game
The real turning point of the game came when Jackson lost his cool on the kick and threw the football in someone's face, backing us into a corner. That was a poor choice and seems to be getting over looked.

That was, indeed, a dumb play by the rookie. Not sure I'd pin the loss on him for that, but he needs to learn to control the urge to retaliate (or, at least, to make sure the ref's not looking!)
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Sorry. The real turning point was when Butler made a bet he couldn't cover.

Good point. Think of how big of a momentum shift that interception would have been had Butler made it.

That penalty that put us back to the 10, ultimately was the nail in the coffin, but I think we were already in a pretty big hole and probably not going to pull it off even if we got the ball on the 20. But yes, that was huge.

Re: Our young buck might have cost us the game
There were several LITTLE, almost fortuitous, things that could have easily resulted in us leaving Atlanta with a win.
From a more aggressive and responsible perspective though, we came up short on several other MAJOR things that, even more easily, could have assured beating the Falcons.
I'll see this game as an early wakeup call. Including our rookie RB star. AAAAARGGHH!

The real point of this is that Jackson is NOT a kick returner, neither is Arlen Harris. When will Martz realize we need speed at that position. Ya Jackson made a dumb mistake no doubt. Remember back when opponents feared Tony Horne and our KR game? Now they just laugh. :ramlogo:

Dumb Penalties kill us all game not just the Jackson one......to me the momentum switched back to the Falcons when we tided the game at 17, if we just could of punched that ball in for 7, the crowd was already out of it, The O was hot then... what if ...what if....

Re: Our young buck might have cost us the game
IMO the turning point in the game is when the Falcons D stopped the Rams on the short 3rd down forcing the FG. The Falcons then drove down the field and aggressively went for the TD, and got it. The stage was then set, because the crowd was back into the game.
