    Re: Pace's shoulder suffers setback

I know I'm looking at the glass half empty, but why is it that every time the Rams sign a guy long term he becomes plagued with the injury bug? Let's all hope that this doesn't apply to the Rams most current long term signing.

    [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]Maybe not now, but soon.

Wow. Until 10 minutes ago I didn't even know this guy existed. Just MAYBE, he's a beast. If not, I hope we won't need him. So far, what I've read is Pace's injury has nothing to do with last years or the one prior. If he just fell on it wrong and it's sore, that's WONDERFUL news. He (Pace) said it is structurally sound.

Does this mean he's going to be "questionable" every week, like Brian Westbrook always is? Because that's no fun to deal with.

I dont believe its anything serious, he is listed as questionable against the ravens so i believe its more of a precautious move to have him ready for week 1, if i was the coaching staff i would sit him out against baltimore and give him a few series against KC towards the end of the game to see where he stands, this would also allow us to see what else we have at LT

Face it. OP's a marshmellow. When they give the song and dance about their off-season conditioning it's just garbage.

I must be setting on the remote. We need mo guacamole in here *****.

May you be absolutely wrong, Major!

    Seriously, it IS worrying:

Pace also conceded that with the regular-season opener just over two weeks away, the continuing shoulder difficulties are "a little frustrating."

"I'm just trying to be a key piece to this offense to help us win some games," he added. "Hopefully I can get back and be healthy and play at a high level."

For Pace himself to acknowledge this concern and "little frustration", honesty and all, is earth shattering but ... as we all hope for, may this newest injury only be a minor one, just to bring us some excitement.

By the same token, along with other posters, I can't help wondering what ever happened to the non-marshmallow [Live4ramin], ironman / steelman Ram OL?!?

Whether OP holds up or not (I trust he'll be okay) we are going to definitely have to shop around for a solid OT. For now, yes, let's get Steussie on the phone. He was one of last year's injury casualties but he also seems to be a durable old grunt that can step in and fill a Rams guard or tackle's shoes anytime.

Doctors and Trainers at Rams Park: I demand you get Pace STRONG and READY!...

Rest him. This week, next week, I don't care.

Get him healthy, and right to go for Philadelphia.

And people wonder why coaches don't want to play starters extensively in the pre-season..

Should be some good options. Keep an eye on Michael Oher (Mississippi), Eugene Monroe (Virginia), and junior Andre Smith (Alabama) this season. They seem to be the favorites right now as potential first round tackles.

Not much of a candidate as a left tackle. I suspect there's a reason the Dolphins spent their first round pick on Jake Long to play that position rather than just letting Carey do it.

I'm sure they're capable of moving around, but I say if a tackle comes available during roster cuts, we snap him up, just in case ... and we should all pray big O holds up.
But at least Adam Goldberg is getting good reviews in camp so far. I understand he's the one splitting time with the first unit in camp when they limit OP's reps.

I would certainly have preferred that Pace just dog it on the interception. I guess it was instinct to try and stop the interceptor but talk about a senseless injury/risk. Bulger is indirectly bringing poor protection on himself.
