    Re: Pats interested in S-Jax?

There may not be a salary cap next year.

We don't know that for certain. It could very well be that the cap stays, which in turn means that said contracts only shackle the team's efforts to rebuild.

The bottom line is for the price of that one unproven rookie, the Rams could likely get 3 or 4 depth players or starters at positions of less prestige. The latter is far more helpful in rebuilding than the former.

So in essence, having 2 top ten picks is not a good thing?

Never said we have to use both picks in the draft. One of them could be used in a trade down scenario to aquire more picks for the future, or the depth players you speak about. Could it not?

    Re: Pats interested in S-Jax?

Adam Schefter reports: (and it's obvious)

"Despite speculation to the contrary, the St. Louis Rams absolutely will not trade running back Steve Jackson before Tuesday's deadline. The Rams like Jackson too much and they couldn't do it even if they wanted to do it. They would have to trim $4 million from their cap when, right now, they are about only $200,000 under the salary cap. So no matter how much some teams might want Jackson, the Rams are not dealing him."

Always and Forever a fan of the St. Louis Rams
