Pead vs Richardson
So who in your opinion, is our backup RB and possibly RB for the future? I know Isiah Pead didn't do so hot in his first couple games, but did you really expect a rookie RB to do well in his first couple NFL games? They both look good and Pead look really good last night. I say Pead, what say ye?

Re: Pead vs Richardson
I don't know I'm just glad we have two backups this year that look good. Last year we had two retreads and they both stunk it up when we needed them to produce.

Re: Pead vs Richardson
I think Pead will get the first few calls to relieve Jackson but Richardson's preseason performance does not leave Isaiah much wiggle room for not performing.
All though I wouldn't be shocked if Richardson got the call and Pead handled more kick-off returns.

Re: Pead vs Richardson
Richardson impressed me more than Pead. Small school steal. Bulk up his thighs and increase his upper body strength and I think he could be a starter in 2013. In many ways he was that impressive.

Re: Pead vs Richardson
Haven't seen yesterday's game yet, but so far Isaiah looks skittish with physical contact, especially near the line, as if he's trying to use his speed to get around it.
The only thing that Pead seemed to actually have over Richardson is that he dropped fewer checkdowns.
Draft position means nothing to me, so I'm rather hoping the coach keeps it objective and goes with Richardson, who has actually been fun to watch so far this preseason.

I think its all ready been establish... Richardson started 1st with the #1 unit yesterday. Pead didnt get many snaps with that unit. And last week richardson took most of the snaps at rb too. Doesnt take a genuis so see who's number 2. But i will say situations will depend on who comes in. If its 3rd and long Pead would come in. Short yardage would be for richardson

Re: Pead vs Richardson
Pead had easily his best game of the pre-season and Richardson continued to look very sharp. I think they'll both see #2 duties depending on the situation, though I think Richardson might be the first call usually.
Depth at RB looks so much better this year!

Yeah, if the rams did one thing right, they addressed the RB backup issue. Thats one thing they can check off the list of issues needing the be addressed among other things.

Re: Pead vs Richardson
We should definately give richardson carries in the season...But during the season I think Pead should be our return man and #2 rb...S-Jax is patient while pead just explodes through the hole both of them a 2 very different runners and i think this will benefit in the goal line lining both up in the backfield.
Pead is just the better compliment back...I wanna see Jax and Pead run the wild cat together with pead as the pre-snap motion man and Jax as the "QB" (he has more career reg season TD passes than Tebow and Sanchez combined this pre-season)

Re: Pead vs Richardson
Unfortunately I didn't get to see Pead doing his thing against the Ravens. But I believe once he gets his head together, and becomes more comfortable in a NFL offense. The sky is the limit for this kid. Richardson is looking a little better at the moment, but in the long term I have little doubt Pead will be the go to guy.

Re: Pead vs Richardson
I could see them using Pead as a receiving RB early until he gets his groove.

Re: Pead vs Richardson
Unfortunately I've not gotten to see much preseason, so I can't say who I think SHOULD get the RB job... However, I don't think that the draft position will dictate who gets the nod behind S-Jax.
I do think, however, that Fish is going to run like crazy, so there will be plenty of snaps to see both guys. I think that this season will dictate who will be our RB (or RB platoon) of the future.
