I can't imagine why picking Jason Smith would endanger Devaney's job. Since when is taking a left tackle a controversial decision? Surely taking the quarterback when you're already heavily invested in the guy you've got would carry more risk.

Thats not what iam saying at all, what iam saying is that there has been absolutley no smoke around Billy D and for him to report it like he did was a slimy underhanded move in an attempt to make it sound like he knows of somthing that no one else does.
